Friday in the NBA I hand you the 40 dime winner on Memphis (+6) at home against Orlando and the Grizzlies deliver the outright win 107-106.
Saturday in College Hoops I hand you the 100 dime winner on Richmond (+3') at home against Dayton and the Spiders deliver the outright win 69-64.
Sunday in the NFL I hand you the 150 dime winner on Detroit (+7') at San Francisco and the Lions should have won the game outright but they got me the cover.
Now indulge me for a moment.
Did I want the outright win??? Absolutely but Lions head coach Dan Campbell's ego got in the way of doing the right thing in a road playoff game.
And it cost his team a trip to Vegas to face the Chiefs in the Super bowl.
I will go to my grave making the following statement:
If Campbell, with 7 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, kicks the field goal instead of going for it on 4th and 2 putting the lead back to 17 the Lions do not lose that game.
Then with 7 minutes to go in the 4th quarter he passes up the tying field goal to go for it again and they don't get it.
That decision put the world who had Detroit in position to now need a backdoor for the cover, which they did, but again, it NEVER should have come to that.
Let's move on.
It's back to College basketball for the next 13 days.

My Analysis

This tired basketball team will get blown out tonight yet again.

The Utah Jazz complete their 6-game road trip tonight against the hottest team in the NBA....The New York Knicks.

The Knicks are sporting a 7-game winning streak and have covered 5 straight games.

To make matters worse for the Jazz, they come into this game having just been blown out at Brooklyn last night 147-111.

So let me get this straight: Last night playing your 5th game in 9 nights, you got destroyed by 33 points by the Nets.

The Jazz looked tired. They looked slow. They looked like they're ready to get back to Utah.

And yet, they now have to play one more, against these Knicks, the 6th game in 10 nights and on back to back nights no less.

You think the Knicks are going to feel sorry for them??

This Knicks team is playing their best ball of the entire year right now!!!!!!

They just caught the defending NBA champs completing their road trip playing their 5th game in 9 nights and how did that go for Jokic and Murray?

The Knicks absolutely hammered them to the tune of 122-84.

They beat them by 38 points!!!!!!!

Just like the Nuggets before them, they are in the wrong place at the wrong time against the wrong team. END OF STORY.

I will be shocked, I mean absolutely shocked, if the Knicks don't win this game by double digits tonight.

Lay this number with confidence as New York rolls.

That "tired" team played in Brooklyn last night, with no travel while the Knicks minus Randle played last night in Charlotte and traveled home to NY for tonight's game.

This tired angle reminds me of a hockey game way back in the 70s in the Bobby Orr era.

To cut to the chase, the Bruins had just played a tough game on the road on Saturday night (can't remember where) and were scheduled

to play a Sunday afternoon game against a good and rested Chicago Blackhawks team!!

I recall the commentators stayed that the Bruins arrived in Chicago at around 3:30 in the morning!!

The analysis of the media and broadcasters for the game(very few sports services back then) was that Bruins had very little chance

of winning that because of the lack of rest.

Well it turns out that the analysis was a "little bit off" as the Bruins not only won the game but in convincing style either via 4-0

shutout or 4-1!!(can't remember).

Hopefully the point is clear here, and let's just say being a relative newcomer to sports gambling, I learned a valuable lesson

on that day!!
