For a guy who had given up just 4 earned runs over his last 37-plus innings, he couldn't get his own grandmother out yesterday. Talk about embarrassing.
Wow, safe to say any momentum the Mariners had before the all-star break is now gone.

when they just finished off Seattle in a three-game sweep after the Mariners have just won 14 straight!!
Didn't this doofus ever learn that there are such things as emotional letdowns after sweeps of this nature and especially
so when their next opponent is a very weak team but at home.
This is just one more glaring example of many as to why over the long haul Lang has totally buried anyone who has followed him
and who will suffer the same fate if they continue to do so, short-term winning streaks aside!!

I jump on the hottest team in baseball with a pitcher who was 4-0 in his last 7 starts and wouldn't you know it, they implode on multiple levels and lose.
And that was the case with the Houston Astros and more importantly Jake Odorizzi, who once again wets the bed against the Oakland A's.
Just have to keep grinding and get on a hot streak into football season.

This has been one of my favorite situational baseball angles for a long time. After winning 10+ games in a row, once they lose one, they almost always lose two...and sometimes more
You know as a person who has been betting on sports and investing in the stock market for over 50 years, I
have noted quite a few similarities.
One of the best ones which applies to both is the old adage that in general when everyone is buying, you should be selling and vice versa.
In the case above, Lang got all orgasmic because Houston swept the Mariners at when the latter going in had won fourteen
straight games.
Thus LOSER Lang decided that Houston would be so confident and ecstatic that they would just go into Oakland and destroy a
much weaker team and lay 1 1/2 runs.
Never once did he consider that the Houston players are human beings also and might possibly need a breather the
next day and thus not be as focused, and sure enough that was the case.
Along the same lines, I have found that both in the stock market and in sports gambling, in many cases success can be attributed
not to this trend and angle, that trend and angle, etc. but rather on an intuitive sense based on many years of experience.
Using one's intuitive sense works even better in a given game as we all know is much better than going with the crowd
when they are all over the other side.
Another good example of this besides Houston last night was the Dodgers, when lots of folks jumped on them against
lowly Washington because the Dodgers had just swept the Giants, and laying 1 1/2 runs.
In short, the Dodgers suffered the same fate as the Astros.
The bottom line if when Lang uses the Public type of "logic" described above in making his pick, in many cases the play against
becomes even stronger!!
Sorry for the dissertation but hopefully it will help some folks who are not yet that familiar with smart ways to wager on
sports as well as of course anyone who is not accustomed yet to Lang's signature losing ways!!
