The American jihadist who died in Syria in a suicide bomb attack was brainwashed and recruited by a terror cell in the Texas according to a family member.
Moner Mohammad Abu-Salha didn't speak any Arabic before he disappeared from his Florida home to join the civil war in Syria.
It meant the 22-year-old could not have been radicalized by watching sermons of hate on his laptop computer and must have been radicalized by other means.
The young American's uncle claimed Abu- Salha was given financial support to travel across the world to join fighters trying to topple the Syrian Government with the money coming from a terror cell based in Texas.
Abu-Salha blew himself up for Al Nusra Front, an extremist with links to Al Q'aida when he drove a truck packed with explosives toward a restaurant full of Syrian soldiers. It is not know how many people, apart from Abu-Salha, died in the attack.
Speaking in Jordan, Abu-Salha's uncle said he did not hold any extremist views when he visited family members in the capital Amman.
"He was just a sweet normal kid, who prayed the regular prayers every day," said the uncle in an interview with The Arab Daily newspaper.
Abu-Salha's parents are struggling to come to terms with their son's radicalization and rejection of his his 'all-American' upbringing.
Friends and neighbors said Michelle and Mohammad Abu-Salha have been left bereft by the death of their son Moner.

Abu-Salha was confirmed by U.S. officials to be the first American born jihadist to die in the conflict which has so far claimed more than 160,000 lives.
The uncle,who did not want to be named, insisted his nephew could only speak two words of Arabic.

The uncle said any radicalization took place away from the family home in Vero Beach, Florida.
He revealed there was only one computer in the home which used by all the family members.
According to the uncle Abu-Salha's transformation from all American boy to suicide bomber began in October 2012.
He flew from Orlando, Florida, to Germany and then on to Turkey where he slipped across the border into Northern Syria.
While Abu-Salha secretly trained with other jihadists, his parents in Florida were left distraught.
Two months later Abu-Salha turned up at his grandparents home in Amman at 1am. Abu Salha stayed four months and, according to the uncle, showed no signs of wanting to go back and join the jihadists fighting in Syria.
Again he had no access to a computer and did not appear to be in contact with any radical groups.
The uncle said they were afraid Abu Salha would be killed because he had apparently walked away from the extremist group.

The young American called his mother Michelle several times in Florida to reassure her he was safe, before deciding to fly back to Vero Beach.
Abu-Salha, who loved playing basketball, showed signs of regretting leaving the US and indicated he wanted to go back to college and resume his studies.
On May 12th 2013 he flew to Florida for an emotional reunion with his family.
But a month later he disappeared and fled to Texas, texting his mother that he was well.
The uncle did not say which part of Texas Abu Salha spent time in but in January this year he called home to say: "I am in Syria. I am fine an everything is ok."
Two months later, in March, he called again and said the same thing before he hung up promptly.
The third and final time he called was last April when he told his mother to say:" I am fine, I am doing well and everything is ok."
According to the uncle each call was brief and only lasted a few seconds.
His death has shattered his close-knit family who neighbors say consider themselves 'very much American.'
His younger sister and younger brother have been seen weeping on the screened lanai at the back of their rented home in Vero Beach, Florida.

His mother and father sat out on the lanai over the weekend and appeared to be reading a newspaper with details of their son's death.
'They are in torment and can't understand why their son would do this,' said neighbor Martin Zickert, a retired Air Force Colonel.
'Since they found out they have been staying indoors, but I know they must be shattered. What on earth drove a sensible boy to do such a thing.'

Another neighbor said she went to comfort the family after news spread through the gated community in Vero Beach where the Abu-Salhas have lived since 2006.
The neighbor, who did not want to be named, said she remembered Moner as a 'cheerful' teenager going from house to house to play basketball with his friends.
'When I called at the house one of the other sons came to the door. He was very polite and just thanked me for coming.
'They did not have much to say and we have left them to grieve on their own.
'It most be such a shock, not just to lose a son in that way but to know he could be brainwashed into killing himself for a cause that is not his.'
Until three years ago Moner was like any other American teenager and was said to be obsessed with playing basketball.
Neighbors in the Lakes at Sandridge development remember seeing him walking around in shorts and T-shirt - and always bouncing a basketball.
'He was your typical American kid,' said neighbor Michael Hill.
Many of the homes in the smart, gated development have basketball hoops at the end of their driveways.
'We all called him Mo and he would go from house to house to see who he could shoot some hoops with,' said 17 year old Michael Hill.

While not a star member of the team its manager Holly Gibson remembers him as an enthusiastic player.
She said: 'Everybody liked him and the coach kept him on the team because he was all heart. He was that kind of player.'
Moner attended the local Sebastian River High School but according to officials dropped out before graduating with the Class of 2010.
Former school friends said Moner never talked about religion and showed no real interest in politics.
'Mo was all about going to Dunkin Donut's,' said one former school friend.
'He was just a regular guy and we'd hang out after school. He wasn't much into chasing girls and I know he had quite a strict upbringing.
'When his dad said he had to be home by a certain time he made sure he was home.'
Another former schoolfriend Matt Klath added: 'Mo was just a nice guy, the sort of person you could joke around with.
'I couldn't believe it when I switched on the news and saw he had blown himself up. That is just unreal.'
Despite leaving school without a diploma Monsor gained an equivalency from St. James Academy in nearby Fort Pierce where he lived with is 24 year old brother.
By this time he had grown his beard and neighbours said he began to wearing the traditional Muslim robe.

Friends believe this could have been the tipping point when he rejected his American upbringing and became radicalised.
Orlando Taylor, another schoolfriend, lived in Orlando with Moner and his older brother when they shared an apartment.
He told The Wall Street Journal, that Moner regularly would wear a long robe. In addition he also regularly read from the Quran, singing passages from it and praying.
'That became his priority,' said Mr. Taylor, who accompanied Moner to a mosque on a few occasions.
'He surrounded his life around that.'
Until it was removed over the weekend, Moner's Facebook page detailed his nights out partying while living in Orlando.
'I guess he was sowing his wild oats, living away from his parents,' said Mr Taylor.
'To me, that's contradictory. Supposedly if you're going to be religious, it's not conducive to going out and partying.'

His parents have told FBI and local police that they lost contact with their son about a year ago.
They had not heard from him in months when he called to say he was working as a nurse in Jordan.
Mr Abu-Salha, 51, is from Jordan while his wife 42 year old wife Michelle is American.
Her maiden name is Evans and she has other family living in the Georgia area.
After her marriage she converted to Muslim and wore the traditional hijab.
Neighbours said she was always very friendly and would walk around the neighbourhood with Moner holding his hand when he was much younger.

'I've only been here since September, but she was always very nice whenever we spoke,' said Mr Ziggert her next door neighbour.
'She would wear the traditional head scarf when she was outside, but she was always very polite.'
The bomber's father, who is originally from Jordan, runs a grocery store in Melbourne, about 40 minutes from his home in Vero Beach.
Staff at the store confirmed Mr Abu Salha was the owner but said they could not comment any further.
Mr Abu Salha is also listed in state records as being the owner of a trailer park in the Vero Beach area.
The family have lived in the quiet, gated community since 2006 but were forced to move out their home 18 months ago when it went into foreclosure.
They moved to another single storey home further along the street, but that too went into foreclosure.
The third move was to a rented home in Orangewood Lane where they refused to make any comment to the press.
Had their son visited the property he would have seen the homes either side flying the Stars and Stripes flag.
By the time the family moved in Moner, who was born in Palm Beach County on October 28th 1991, had already travelled to Syria where he linked up with a rebel group fighting to overthrow the Government.

Having been accepted as a foreign fighter he assumed the name Al-Amriki.
He became known as the 'cat loving' jihadist after photos were posted on social media sites showing him holding a cat.
One video posted on YouTube, with the title 'the American martyrdom from al-Nusra Front,' identifies the suicide bomber as Abu Hurayra Al-Amriki.
Other social media posts feature a picture of a bearded man with that name, smiling and holding a cat.
Al-Amriki in Arabic means 'the American.' The name Abu Hurayra is popular among Sunni Muslims.
Other postings claim that the American jihadist was in one of four vehicles that carried out the suicide bombing.
One YouTube video claims the American jihadist detonated the biggest one, which contained 17 tons of explosives, including artillery shells.
Abu Suleiman al-Muhajer, who belongs to al Qaeda in the Levant, the umbrella organization for the al-Nusra Front, praised Moner's suicide mission.
A tweet, which was published on the radical Islamist website Hanein, features Moner's photo and the words, 'Abu Hurayra Al-Amriki performed a martyrdom operation in Idlib, Jabal Al-Arba'een. May Allah accept him.'

The terrorists, thought to be from Boko Haram, set a locked hostel on fire, before shooting and slitting the throats of those who tried to climb out the windows. Some were burned alive.
Adamu Garba said he and other teachers who ran away through the bush estimate 40 students died in the assault that began around 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Federal Government College at Buni Yadi.

It is a co-ed school about 45 miles south of Damaturu, the capital of Yobe state, and difficult to communicate with because extremists last year destroyed the cell phone tower there.
Garba, who teaches at a secondary school attached to the college, said the attackers first set ablaze the college administrative block, then moved to the hostels, where they locked students in and started firebombing the buildings.
At one hostel, he said: ‘Students were trying to climb out of the windows and they were slaughtered like sheep by the terrorists who slit their throats. Others who ran were gunned down.’

The attackers also reportedly hurled explosives into student residential buildings, sprayed gunfire into rooms and hacked a number students to death.
A senior medical source at the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital in Yobe’s capital Damaturu said the gunmen only targeted male students and that female students were ‘spared’.
‘So far, 43 bodies have been brought (from the college) and are lying at the morgue,’ said the source, who requested anonymity as he was not authorised to discuss death tolls.
Damaturu resident Babagoni Musa told AFP that four ambulances carrying dead bodies drove past his shop, which falls on the road from Buni Yadi.
‘They had tree branches on them which is a sign used here to signify a corpse is in a vehicle,’ he said.
