Meriam Yehya Ibrahim Ishag, right, is pictured in this undated image with her husband Daniel Wani, left.

Lawyers for a pregnant Sudanese woman plan to appeal an Islamic judge’s decision that she be flogged with 100 lashes and then be hanged for marrying a Christian man and converting.

Amnesty International and Western embassies are expressing alarm over the harsh sentence meted out to Meriam Yehya Ibrahim Ishag, who is eight months pregnant.

So far the only concession granted by the Islamic court is to wait until Ishag gives birth before carrying out the sentence.

Amnesty International called the court’s ruling “truly abhorrent.” The organization’s Sudan researcher Manar Idriss said that “adultery and apostasy are acts which should not be considered crimes at all. It is flagrant breach of international human rights law.”

Western embassies in Sudan including the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands also echoing that sentiment issued a joint statement expressing “deep concern” about the case and urged Sudan to respect the right to freedom of religion.

Amal Habany, a political activist in support of women’s rights, said “The court has no appearance of justice or respect for freedom of choice in ones beliefs, personally and individually.”

Despite the outrcy, the Islamic court has been unmoved.

The judge told Ishaq, “We gave you three days to recant, but you insist on not returning to Islam. I sentence you to be hanged to death.” Officially her crime is apostasy.

Ishaq replied, “I am a Christian and I never committed apostasy.”

The judge also ruled that her marriage to a Christian man was invalid and not recognized under Islamic law, which means that she had committed adultery. He ordered her to be flogged for that alleged offense.

After the sentence was decreed, the prosecutor’s spokesman Ahmad Hassan told the Associated Press that “they were given ample time to prove their innocence, but I for one believe in upholding our traditions and customs as Sudanese.”

[h=1]Message to Richard Dawkins: 'Islam is not a race' is a cop out[/h] A focus on the academic distinction between religion and race is often used as a fig leaf for prejudice and outright bigotry

Of late, a new variation of the old chestnut "I'm not racist but …" has emerged. It goes: "I've got nothing against Muslims, it's Islam I hate". Otherwise known as the "Islam is not a race" argument.
After I wrote about Richard Dawkins's snide attack on the supposed dearth of Muslim scientific and cultural achievement, some critics hit back along these lines. It is acceptable to criticise and belittle Islam because it is a religion, not an ethnic grouping – and therefore fair game.
Technically, they are right – Islam is not a race. But too often, those who deploy the argument, are borrowing from the Bill Clinton school of sophistry: "I did not have racist relations with that religion".
Dawkins himself dedicated a large part of his riposte to a dissection of whether race is a biological or social construct. The argument over Islam and race was a "simple semantic disagreement", he said, before proceeding to define race according to the dictionary.
So what does the dictionary say? Racism, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, is "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior". But what does this mean in practice?
Under British law, Jewish people are classified as belonging to a race (something that Dawkins, incidentally, disagrees with) since they are deemed to have a shared culture and history that goes beyond the religious sphere. Do I share history, culture and other reference points with Muslims around the world that go beyond the practice of Islam? Definitely. But it is a loose, secular feeling.
Does this make me immune to discrimination that Muslims face? Certainly not, given the long hours I have spent in immigration queues, undergoing extended background checks and visa processing times. So clearly, in that sense, Islam is not a race, but Muslims are. It's entirely legitimate to question and interrogate Islam as a religion. It is not fair to do so against Muslims based on their religious or cultural identity.
Equally, it is disingenuous to claim that Islam has no colour. There is actually quite a strong racial dimension to Islamophobia. Muslims in the UK are predominantly brown, Asian or Arab, and there have been instances where non-Muslims from Asian communities have been lumped together with Muslims and discriminated against.
After the 9/11 attacks, some bearded and turbaned Sikh men found themselves coming under hostile scrutiny. Following the more recent Boston bombings, some media outlets described suspects as being of "Muslim appearance" – whatever that is. In the wake of Theo Van Gogh murder, racist targeting of Muslim immigrants increased.
When discrimination against some eastern Europeans in the UK is called racism, you don't hear cries of "Polish is not a race" to justify plain prejudice. The fixation on terminology and not the reality suggests a society that does not want to come to terms with the creeping ugliness of hatred. The likes of the BNP and EDL lack even a basic grasp of the rudiments of Islam, let alone an ability to parse religion and race.
Racism is behaviour, not an informed academic position. I doubt that anyone abusing Muslims in the street, or defacing a mosque, or snatching a veil off a woman's face, has paused to examine their premise beforehand. The argument that Islam is not a race is a cop out. It's time that we dispensed with it once and for all, because it prevents us from identifying acts motivated by hatred for what they really are. Islam might not be a race, but using that as a fig leaf for your unthinking prejudice is almost certainly racist.

If a Muslim family wants to live in this country and assimilate into our culture, welcome. Come live next door!

If a Muslim wants to move into a society with the purpose of changing our laws and overthrowing our government, or wants every city to resemble Dearborn, stay the fuck out!

#1, Richard Dawkins is an ignorant blowhard
#2, Islam is not a race not matter what lame arguments you bring to try and justify asinine statement. The fact that you'd try to defend such a stupid statement shows even more how fucking dumb you are. But, it again illustrates that mindless parroting of the left, accuse someone of racism at all costs, even if they're not even remotely close to being a racist.

Two Tea Party members in upstate New York entered a guilty plea to federal terrorism related charges, on Jan. 27. The (Albany, NY) Times Union reports the two men, Eric Feight and Scott Crawford, were caught planning to build an x-ray weapon of mass destruction, in order to wipe out Muslim-Americans, whom they referred to as the “enemies of Israel.”
Here’s the video news report on this weapon of mass destruction from Young Turks.
[h=2]Tea Party terrorists attempted to build a radiating death ray to destroy Muslims and others.[/h]
In October of last year the two men contacted the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, attempting to solicit money to fund the development of their weapon of mass destruction. According to FBI records, Crawford also went to a syngogue during a separate event, where he:
“asked to speak with a person who might be willing to help him with a type of technology that could be used by Israel to defeat its enemies, specifically, ‘by killing Israel’s enemies while they slept’.”
[h=2]Crawford identified himself as a KKK member.[/h] Crawford identified himself as a member of the United Northern and Southern Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, in telephone conversations recorded by the FBI. He travelled to North Carolina, where he attempted to recruit other klansmen to help with the plan. One of those klansman contacted the FBI, who then arranged an undercover operation, which lasted from April 2012 to June 2013.
One of the men, Scott Crawford worked for General Electric as an Industrial Mechanic. The other, Eric Feight, worked as an outside contractor of General Electric, as a computer software expert. Both men have the extensive knowledge and expertise required to build a weapon of mass destruction, based on technology that was first dreamed up by the Nazi party, during WWII.
[h=2]The two intended to use the weapon of mass destruction to target a Mosque.[/h] Crawford and Feight built a prototype of the remote control device that would have activated their ‘death ray’. The FBI described the weapon as
“a radiation emitting device that could be placed in the back of a van to covertly emit ionizing radiation strong enough to bring about radiation sickness or death against Crawford’s enemies.”
The two had also chosen an area Mosque as the first target at which to aim their weapon of mass destruction.
The two men plead guilty to building a weapon of mass destruction in U.S. District Court, in the Northern District of New York. The charges, “conspiracy to provide support or resources intending that they be used for or in preparation of the use of a weapon of mass destruction,” carry a maximum penalty of upto 15 years in federal prison.

Welcome China, to the wonderful world of fundamental islamic slaughter:
Radical Muslim Separatists Blamed for Attack in Western China that Killed 31 and Injured 90 (Fox News)
At least 31 people have died and 90 have been injured in an attack on an open-air market in the capital of Xinjiang province in western China Thursday, the latest in a series of violent incidents that the Chinese government has blamed on radical Muslim separatists from the Turkic Uighur minority.
Xinhua News Agency said that the attackers plowed through crowds of shoppers in off-road vehicles and threw explosives out the window before crashing head-on in the attack in the city of Urumqi.

Radical Islamists Destroy Syrian Artifacts
Fighters with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, that controls a large swath of eastern Syria, destroyed antiquities from an ancient Mesopotamian site in an act of cultural genocide strikingly similar to the Taliban's demolition of the Buddhas of Bamiyan in 2001.
Pictures on the Internet show ISIL fighters smashing a 3,000-year-old Neo-Assyrian statue.
In January 2014, the radical Islamist ISIL destroyed a sixth-century Byzantine mosaic near the city of Raqqa.

[h=2]A leading Muslim charity is under investigation for allegations that is promoted intolerance towards the Jewish community and called for adulterers and gay people to be stoned to death, according to theTelegraph. The Charity Commission is said to have become concerned after the University of London banned the group from its campuses after it learned from campaigners that the charity had gender segregation at their meetings.[/h]The Islamic Education and Research Academy (IERA), which claims it works with two major British charities, lists among its advisers two preachers banned from the UK for extremist views. It claims to have worked closely with Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and AgeUK.
British charities are required to adhere to very strict guidelines laid out by the Charity Commission in areas such as political campaigning and corporate governance. The body has the power to remove charitable status from a group, and regularly uses its powers to do so.
The commission is looking into the actions of the charity because of a series “regulatory issues” over how it picks speakers and organises events. Amongst issues that are thought to concern the commission is the status of Bilal Philips and Dr Zakir Naik, who advise the charity despite been banned from entering the UK.
The investigation itself has been likened to a police investigation and coincides with a devastating report into the charity by Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain (CEMB), an organisation that exposes Islamic extremism.
CEMB claim that the charity described gay people as “vile” and “evil” in posting on their website in 2006. The report also claims that the founder and chairman of the charity Abdurraheem Green suggested that women who commit adultery should be subjected to a “slow and painful death by stoning”. This is in addition to an earlier video showing his racial abusing a Jewish man in Hyde Park. When he saw the man he said, “Why don’t you take the Yahoudi [Jew] over there, far away so his stench doesn’t disturb us?”
In a statement, the Charity Commission said: “The regulator is investigating concerns about the charity’s governance. The inquiry was opened following a records inspection at the charity’s premises in January 2014. The regulator says that it identified a number of regulatory issues connected to the charity’s approach and policies for organising events and inviting external speakers and its associated records and documents.”
The charity defended its position in a statement saying: “iERA considers to have willingly complied with the statutory case demands and already clearly articulated any discrepancies to the commission. Although iERA does not see the reason for a formal investigation they are fully supporting and assisting the Charity Commission’s formal inquiry.”
Both Great Ormond Street Hospital and AgeUK denied any formal involvement with IERA, but the hospital did admit that some IERA supporters were participating in a fun run for it.
The investigation will, once again, raise concerns that radical Muslims are using front groups to spread hate. It comes after the Muslim Council of Britains leadership were exposed for holding unsavoury views. Its former Chairman Iqbal Sacranie, who was knighted by Tony Blair's government, said that death was too good for Salman Rushdie.
The Muslim leader has also denounced homosexuality and gay marriage.
