i havent heard this talked about much, but i'm curious what King & Guru think about the new "jack LB rule" i kinda think it will have a major impact on the game and scoring could be down this season....what are your thoughts....

Nice looking card their King. Seems other than your total the lines are going in your favor (I'm sure you have made light of that already but what the hell). Anyways here to wish you luck and to let you know that I'm officially on board. Gonna have a little party for the SJ/Chi-town game. Should be a good one.

Yeah, the previous games with Chicago and SJ, there seems to be a grind and they normally hit mid-late nineties in points. Chicago has added key weapons on offense with a veteran QB and top 5 WR in the league. I got this feeling Cats come out ready and even in their first game against eachother last season, Cats got stopped 4 times which I doubt will happen again. I think Bonner/Grieb match ups were always high scoring but Chicago has a better defense than Arizona. Anything under 100 I think is low unless Bonner struggles with his new team out the gate which I doubt he will to the point of not putting up 45-50 points. I guess its me against the world on that game. Enjoy the game!! :toast:

Thanks for the wishes Dallas.

Stguchi, would I bet the game straight up at -11? I would personally pass. Good luck whatever you decide. :toast:

Ticket, not sure how this will impact the game. It will clutter red zone but the more you put the LB in coverage, the more open the running game will be. This will only affect the 1st and goal situations and not affect the other aspects of the game as LB are not fast enough to cover WR.

King , all it takes is a few extra runs by each team per game and the scores will show the effects....Total wise i'm either betting under or nothing until i see how it will affect the game....i also think it could affect the wr's coming off the ball. It will be interesting to say the least.

Vegas, I understand what runs do in AFL, they kill 40 seconds off the clock per run which is huge in totals. What I am saying is that the LB's in this league are not fast enough to affect the WR's unless it is a goal line situation. And even in yesterday's game when teams get to the 1st and goal areas, they almost always attempt a run or two or three depending on the team. In my opinion it will not affect the totals that dramatically. Yes it will be more than interesting to see how it affects the game but in my humble opinion, it won't affect it that dramatically as they normally run in the goal line areas anyways. How many TD's in this league are from a bomb from the 20 yard line? Probably 85% or some dumb number like that. This league they don't play for 1st downs like NFL, every play is designed to score and occasionally they have a route ran for the 10-15 yard gainer. Good luck this weekend!! :toast:

Those of you who knock ML Bets---Good Luck on your own. I make a living on ML's, especially in baskets. ML Parlays pay & so do high moneylines when you know when to play them 100-200 at a time. Clients keep coming back to Gaffney & I so we must be doing something right.

This is the AFL. Any team can lose.

But I don't see it. NO lost their best receiver in pre-season. They have a very weak receiving corps as well as a QB (Bellisari) with 1/2 season experience, who is fairly erratic at times. And their D does not look to be much better.

LA should be very good this year. Cumbie in his third year, Timon Marshall coming in to return kicks and play at WR, Kevin Ingram healthy, and Ken Jones on the line. LA should be formidable.

I made a small play on the under 106 on this game on Tuesday. Only thing really worrying me is the track record of NO HC Neu when he gets behind. He will onside kick every time in the 2H if he gets down two scores or so. That leads to quick scores.

Could not have said it any better than this. I think the moneyline should be more like -600 or -700 IMO but Arena typicallly carries lower moneylines. Neu said himself in an interview about tonights game we are working on a WR by commitee which doesn't show a lot of confidence with his offense. Should be an easy LA win but I have seen weirder things.

Jake: Do I think Avengers can lose this game? I say 1 out of 10 times so that warrants a -900. I personally would not take any LA moneyline action at -320 if I was a book. Good luck whatever you decide. :toast:

Yessir, indeed I got in at +1 but posted -1.5 cause that was what was available when I posted so I wanted to be fair to those who might follow. If they happen to lose by 1 or win by 1, I will count it as an L here at the Rx. This was the line I was referring to when I said there is one that is juicy off. Good luck to us, would love to win this one together with you!! Lets kick off the season on a positive note!! :toast:

Spart: Always good to see good people coming along for the ride. Will pop you an email sometime tomorrow. Good luck to us sir and hope all is well. :103631605

LA has one of the top defensive front that provides a pass rush that affects the opposing QB. Last time LA played NO last year, Avengers won by 12. Andy Kelly is not getting any younger and their big free agent WR threat got injured in preseason. They lost their #1 defender to free agency and even with him last year they were 5-11. Can't see how Avengers don't win the season opener at home here so this will be the first leg of my teaser:

1st leg of teaser:

LA Avengers -2

San Jose is getting older yes but they know how to win. They are the champions and even with 2 picks and 2 turnovers on downs last time they played Chicago, they only lost by 3 points. Now you have an addition with veteran QB Bonner and the main question is how fast will he gel with the team. There is no question Grieb will be firing on all cylinders having played with his core for years, main question is how fast can Bonner get adjusted. Think it will be a battle and I think Clevan will get a pick or two as the Cats are fimiliar with Bonner and rivals for years. Should be a close one.

2nd leg of teaser:

SJ Sabercats +7

Official Play

6 point teaser at Cris:

LA -2 & SJ +7 ($2000 to win $2000)

SEASON TOTAL $0

One down, one more to go :toast:

teasers horrible idea, much better off with parlay than teaser. Didnt see anybody mention new linebacker rule, it will produce some early season unders.

Railbird, how much do you really know about Arena football? If you knew and followed line movements you would know that SJ was a dog and you can't get plus points and parlay a dog unless you are willing to pay 10 cents a half point at Greek and then you get SJ +7 -360. If the LA Avengers tonight were -360 on the moneyline I think you would know enough about betting to know getting even money on this bet is tons of value. I believe you are to short sighted to evaluate this. Also you are a little behind as there has already been discussion in this exact same thread you respond in about the Linebacker rule. %^_

I know you know about betting so let me ask you this, -360 (LA Avengers moneyline) and San Jose +7 -360 = -160. $3200 to win $2000

OR

LA -2 & SJ +7 +100 = $2000 to win $2000

Which one would you perfer? :103631605

Thanks for coming by........ %^_
