If you don't mind me asking,

What book takes dimes on Arena quarters?

Clucth, nickel online and nickel over the phone is the only way you will get a dime on a 1st quarter in arena.

Well some will say it was lucky to even get to 44 points with the way Voodoo are playing. With NO up 2 points and getting the ball, if they stay on schedule and go up 9 points and trade, the Force will be down two scores. The Force have been kicking onsides and scoring with one shot bombs to win recent games where they have been down two scores. I see this one ending with like 63 points in the 2nd half.

Official Play:

Over 55.5 2nd half NO/Geo ($550 to win $500)

Not sure if anyone watched LA QB's both lose their confidence against Chicago two weeks ago but it was really bad. They scored only 28 points and you would assume a bye week would be good for the team that is struggling. Problem is San Jose seems to be firing on all cylinders and their defense is starting to step it up. Was shocked to see the total at 117 points. Last time I seen LA/SJ total this high was when Tony Graz and Chris Jackson were playing for LA.

Official Play

LA/SJ Under 117 ($1100 to win $1000)

Dallas seems to have found their offensive flow back with Clint in the last 3 or so games, they have also been scoring and giving up points too. Cleveland normally has high scoring games and I see this one being close and involving some onsides and a lot of points.

Official Play

Cle/Dal Over 104.5 ($1100 to win $1000)

Tampa is 4-1 in their last 5 games and no one is talking about how "hot" this team is. Everyone is saying "the hottest team in the league" and they are referring to Georgia. Voo Doo has been playing like Doo Doo and the Force smashed them at home, pulled off a miracle victory against Philly and had no business beating NY, they beat themselves and beat a really Doo Doo team last week. I see this one being close, not sure if the Storm will win but I think they keep this one within reason.

Official Play ($550 to win $500)

Tampa +5 Over Georgia

I just can't play against either team right now in that Georgia/Tampa Bay game. First Georgia was playing no defense and winning on offense. Now their defense is getting healthier and couldn't score against New Orleans. The common thread is that they're winning, though. Tampa Bay has played nothing but ugly games of late, but again, they just keep finding ways to score enough points to win ball games. Both teams could reasonably still win the South and the #2 seed, but both could just as easily end up not making the playoffs. Difference here is that it's really basically all over for Tampa Bay if they lose this one and the combination of stuff happens around them. Georgia knows they'll still be right there.

Still, I think picking a side in this game is like throwing darts blindly and hoping that you hit the board. I've taken Georgia in my article, but nothing would surprise me.

Guru,

I completely agree with every word you said to decide who actually wins this game. But getting 5 points is huge IMO when you are throwing darts, flipping a coin on who is going to outright win the game. I assume you are on side with the totals as there was no mention about them? Good luck this week. :toast:

I wouldn't say that I'm totally on board with your two totals, but I think that they're the more right sides. I think that the LA/SJ game will be a romp, but it takes at least 7 TDs by LA (you'd like to think) to put that total in any danger... don't see that happening. The Cleveland/Dallas total does feel a tad low, but remember that Dallas' defense is probably the best in the AFL. That being said, if you like Cleveland to win this game like I do, you've got to like their chances of at least getting into the low 50s.

Alright, I know some stuff (found out a few hours ago) about Orlando that common Joe doesn't... just trust me and DON'T bet Orlando. I'm not saying to bet on Arizona... just DO NOT bet on Orlando.

The line has not changed but the total has gone down about 5 points.

Someone must have let the cat out of the bag.

From the Orlando Sentinel

QB Eaton will start for Preds

Coach Jay Gruden is looking for ways to pick up Orlando's sluggish offense.

Iliana Limn | Sentinel Staff Writer
May 30, 2008

Predators Coach Jay Gruden is benching starting quarterback Shane Stafford and tapping backup Jake Eaton to lead Orlando (8-5) when it hosts the Arizona Rattlers (6-6) on Saturday night at Amway Arena.

"This has been a long time coming, and I felt like Jake has earned the right to be our starter," Gruden said. "He has proven himself to be a strong leader in spurts, and I want to see what he can do coming in with the score 0-0 instead of trying to get us out of a hole."

Stafford is in his seventh year in the Arena Football League and has been the Preds' starter for the past two seasons. He is 287-of-422 passing for 3,373 yards, 63 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 13 games this season.

Eaton is in his third year with the Preds. He is 30-of-48 passing for 367 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions in five games this season.

Gruden has benched Stafford for poor play midway through two games this season, calling on Eaton to rejuvenate the Preds' tepid offense. Eaton led the team to a 61-35 victory against San Jose on May 3, but he faltered during Orlando's 67-41 loss to the Dallas Desperados last Friday.

Stafford said the change was disappointing, but he will cheer on the team from the sidelines and fight to earn his job back.

"I'm not going to be a cancer to the team or let this bring me down," he said. "I'll do anything I can to help us win."

There's more to it than THAT, but that's the biggest part of the news that inevitably would get out.

Does this Eaton dude look sharp? With this news how can you turn down 10 points for a Zona team that battles in games? I think I will probably take small action on the Rattlers after I do more research on this game.

Anyways for some strange reason I think in tonight's game, Wimprine will be able to break out of his slump facing one of the worst defenses in the league. I think Nagy will be able to get some scores early as well. Not going based on anything more than a hunch that Voodoo come out ready to play after that terrible outing at home against the Force. I see Nagy having success early and as always, they fall apart in the 2nd half. With that being said, I am gonna take the over 1st half.

Official Play:

Columbus/NO Over 47.5 1st half ($550 to win $500)

Utah seems to be all of a sudden winning and they always have battled. Their offense is still potent with Germaine back there under the helm. After doing some interesting research, Utah has not been down after one quarter since week #7 against LA where they were down 23-21. Since then, they have either lead or been tied after one quarter. Couple Utah's offense against a horrid Rapids defense, I am all over the Blaze 1st quarter.

Official Play:

Utah +0.5 -130 1st quarter ($1300 to win $1000)
