Veto-proof won't mean bupkus since the Kenyan will simply ignore Congress no matter what they do. He's going to try and legitimize his Act of Surrender through the UN removing Congress from the picture. Same with his "climate change" bullshit.

Sabotage is the only the option when you're dealing with a dictator. Actually, there are better options, but I won't mention them in a public forum.

You're way too naive.

This hole Iran thing is nothing more than a circle jerk.

Negotiating an agreement that in non binding?

The theme was bipartitionship. I used Keystone as an example. You insist on only using Iran as an example.

Bite me.

I see. I'll pass on biting you, but I will try to explain where I am coming from. I'm not sure why you thought the theme was bipartisanship. The theme was the deal with Iran and the purpose/value of the GOP Letter. I said the best course of action was to continue working towards a veto-proof majority, which would require Democrat votes, therefore making it bipartisan. I understand that you tried to take this conversation in the direction of partisanship in congress, with your comments on curing cancer and the Keystone Pipeline, because you think Dems won't cross over but I don't see any value in that. As of a week ago, Lindsey Graham seemed to think they could garner enough votes for a veto-proof majority and Bob Corker still seems to think they can. I'd like to think he is correct.

He was wrong. Lindsey only signed the letter AFTER Hussein threatened Congress with his veto and that he would bypass Congress altogether. Lindsey is right, he's behaving like a dictator. Watch the video I posted.

Again, what real world purpose did that letter serve? All it did was give Democrats an excuse to not align with Republicans to override his veto. I know it sounds rude but all that letter really did was give guys like you a hard on. It didn't strengthen Congress' position one iota. Honestly, Joe I've laid out my opinion and you have laid out yours. What's the point of going back and forth beating this dead horse? You aren't changing your mind and neither am I. I'm headed out for the weekend. Perhaps we will revisit this on Monday, but I hope not.

The Senate passed sanctions against Iran 100-0.

Now the Kenyan is telling Iran he'll override Congress and do whatever the hell he wants with his shit deal, including promising Iran he'll lift the sanctions unilaterally. Sen. Graham stated if he tries to ratify his illegal Act of Surrender through the UN, Congress will defund the UN.

I almost never agree with Graham, but he's right on this issue.

Hussein is a psychopathic, vile, totalitarian evil piece of shit.

I respect your opinion.

Have a nice weekend, Mantis.

The official said that the Security Council had mandated the negotiations over the U.N. sanctions and therefore has to be involved. The core role in negotiations with Iran that was being played by the five permanent members meant that any understanding over U.N. sanctions would likely get endorsed by the full council, the official added.

Iran rejects Western allegations it is seeking a nuclear weapons capability.

Officials said a U.N. resolution could help protect any nuclear deal against attempts by Republicans in U.S. Congress to sabotage it. Since violation of U.N. demands that Iran halt enrichment provide a legal basis for sanctioning Tehran, a new resolution could make new sanction moves difficult.

“There is an interesting question about whether, if the Security Council endorses the deal, that stops Congress undermining the deal,” a Western diplomat said.

You have to go back to the O'Neill and Reagan era. They hated each other but made it work.

That was 33 years ago.

Eh...dims backed out on plenty during the Reagan era. Promised tax cuts in exchange for...whatever. R's gave them what they wanted, but those tax cuts somehow never materialized.

If you want to know the real problem in DC, check out these scorecards:

Sort it by R's. Half the fuckin Senate and it seems like more than half the house R's have F grades when it comes to voting conservatively. It's becoming more and more difficult to distinguish between the two parties.

That may be true but what would you rather have, back then or now?

Germany's foreign minister joined President Barack Obama and Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in lashing out at the 47 Republican senators that signed a letter criticizing the ongoing negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.

“Suddenly, Iran can say to us: ‘Are your proposals actually trustworthy if 47 senators say that no matter what the government agrees to, we can subsequently take it off the table?’ ” German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said during a visit to Washington.

I hate to break it to you Frankie baby, but that’s exactly what it means. Haven’t you been listening to Kerry?

The GOP is disgusting these days. Unfortunately we couldn't even pay Mexico to take back the South, so we are stuck with these traitors for the foreseeable future. I wish we could get them to secede.

On a side note:

The United States must negotiate with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in order to try to bring an end to the nation’s four-year civil war, Secretary of State John Kerry said on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” in an interview that aired today.

Kerry said that talks with the Assad regime would be part of a “diplomatic” solution to the crisis in Syria.

OK Big John you get right on that! :Carcajada:

Hussein sabotaged Bush's deal with Iran by promising the Islamo-Nazis a softer deal when he was still senator. Now the community agitator is crying because the GOP is returning the favor.

Even crazy ass McCain understands what garbage they've become.

“wasn’t the best way” to accomplish his goals, and that Senate Republicans acted “in not the most effective fashion.”

Southern Republicans are so embarrassing. Here is a tweet from potential prez candidate Bobby Jindal. They are like children. Embarrassing this once great nation. This is how the clowns on this forum talk, not professionals in charge of the greatest country in the history of mankind. The Founding Fathers would slap the shit out of the new age Republican traitors. Embarrassing.

"Anyone thinking of running for Prez, on both sides, should sign on to the letter to make clear that Iran is negotiating w/ lame duck Prez."
