It will be hilarious when the #1 team in the BCS (assuming Texas and Bama trip up along the way) comes up as an underdog in the national championship game to a myriad of potential teams.

Penn State is about even w/ Ohio State, and we know how far that level is behind the elite video game teams.

Even with Ohio State? :nohead:

PSU wins that game by 17-20 in Happy Valley. Watching the SEC and Big 12 games yesterday I am not surprised you guys don't know jack about defense.

If you posted in this thread that PSU is not any good, consider yourself the public. People get too caught up in style points and don't understand athletics. People are ready to pronounce USC and Florida as kings of the world because they can hang 63 and 70 points on people. Penn State wins any way they need to. While I agree their schedule has been weak so far to date, that doesnt make them a bad team. This game right here though, was a very big test for them and they passed with flying colors.

PSU showed A LOT in this football game and more style points than you can count:

1. Outstanding defense.
2. NO TURNOVERS, NO PENALTIES. WHAT!? On the ROAD? They will not lose a game this year if they keep doing anything close to that. (This shows me that they are disciplined, they wont lose their heads or lose their cool in big games. They can handle all of the pressure. AND OSU wasnt as athletic, fast, or better than PSU to cause them to commit penalties or turnovers.)
3. Making plays when it counts.
4. They showed there are very few teams that can play a track meet AND play a low scoring slugfest.
5. TOUGHNESS.
6. Lose their QB and leader in the 3rd quarter and still win.

You can say boo-hoo fumble this and that but there was still plenty of time left in that game whether OSU fumbled or not. There wasnt 3 mins left. There was 10 minutes. Nevermind the fact that that was an outstanding tackle/forced fumble.

That was a classic Big Ten Football game and you throw score out the window and give the nod to the team that knows how to win the tight ones - especially on the road.

Penn State's schedule might not be the best right now, but they are showing a lot of little things that potentially great teams do. If PSU was a fraud, they would have LOST that game to OH ST. OSU had every chance in that game to win, they had all of the intangibles in their favor (mental, historic, home field, night game, underdog role, PSu lost their QB in the 3Q, etc). PSU still overcame all of that and won and that is what great teams do.

I disagree with every post in this thread outside of Sekrah.

Penn State has the #63 strength of schedule

They finish with Iowa, Indiana and Michigan State and had great OOC opponents such as Coastal Carolina, Oregan State, Syracuse, and Temple. Its a joke...you can play no one as long as you win the games and the polls dont care. Their signature win this season (and maybe only team they will face that will finish the season ranked) will be yesterday's win in which they only scored 13 points

Depending what SOS you're using. If you're using a SOS that uses cold, worthless data, yea they are probably somewhere in the middle of the road.

My ratings (which are faring pretty well, 13-5 last two weeks) have Penn State 18th in strength of schedule.

are you retarded? Bama beat two teams, away from home, that were ranked in the top 10 the week they played. One of those teams, Clemson, have folded but the other, Georgia, just put up 50+ on LSU! jackass

ohh namecalling. That will make you seem much more ligit with your post. I'm glad you think Clemson is good because they were #9 when you played them but lets tell the truth. Clemson is a shit football team that has a 3-4 record. Clemson's best win on the year is against NC St. They are currently ranked #11 out of the 12 teams in the ACC. If you think that is a quality wins your nuts. They beat UGA and I will give them that. That was a great win. Just like PSU beat OSU last night. What is Alabama's good win besides UGA. A 3 point win over a kentucky team that UF just beat by 60, or the 4 point win over Ole Miss. You guys will play LSU and probably UGA or UF in the SEC champ game but until you do don't act like you scheduale has been tough.

Just for the record UF will beat the hell out of Alabama if they play in the SEC champ game.

I have Florida -7 over Bama on a neutral field currently. As good as Bama has looked, I'm thinking Arkansas State + a shitload might be a good play next week. Bama has not covered big spreads at home and they have the mother of all games at LSU the following week. That is pretty much the last roadblock to an undefeated regular season.

And if you look at the NCAA's official website than Alabama has the 76th SOS. Texas Tech is 73rd, and Florida is 51st. I guess those are much better

My SOS rankings coming into this weekend with the AP Top 10 teams

1. Texas, 35th
2. Alabama, 43rd
3. Penn St., 18th
4. Oklahoma, 20th
5. Florida, 29th
6. USC, 4th
7. Oklahoma St., 25th
8. Texas Tech, 50th
9. Georgia, 11th
10. Ohio St., 27th

That doesn't include any of the games from this weekend which I'm still punching in.

:103631605.. I hope they give them a boatload.. I would be surprised if it's more than 17 though.. If it is, I'm hammering hard.

It's the "#2" team in the nation against a Sun Belt school at home. This line has to be 24 points minimum i would think, otherwise they can forget about generating any kind of equal action.

They will get more than enough equal action from me down to 17. :aktion033

Penn State would lose to all of those teams. I'd even add a few more to that list. They needed an Ohio State blunder to win as they did jackshit against them outside of that.

They could lose to all of those teams mentioned. They could also beat any of them. On that list, TCU would give them a game too.

I would take Penn St over Alabama, Texas Tech and Ok St. Penn St is a very good team, they proved that to me last night. I still think by the time the bowl games come around Ohio St will be a much better team than Penn St, but we're talking now and PSU just beat a very good team on the road. Ohio St would beat bama, texas texh and Ok St also, and probably beat a couple of them pretty big. I still think those three are frauds, other than maybe ok st because they did just play texas tough.

1. USC
2. Oklahoma
3. Texas
4. Georgia
5. Florida
6. Penn St
7. Ohio St
8. Ok St/Oregon

These are the 8 best teams in the nation imo (with a T8). I would take Oregon at a pick on a neutral field over LSU, Alabama, Texas Tech and any other team you can think of that isn't on this list. Yes, they lost AT HOME to Boise St. Very bad loss, I agree. They win that game much more often than not though and I'd still take them in my top 8. I would take them at a pk on a neutral field over Ok St too, but Ok St has earned their ranking. I'd probably take a few teams over Ok St that aren't on this list, but it's hard to leave them off.

As for neutral field lines vs Penn St.

USC -7.5
Oklahoma -5.5
Texas -4
Georgia -2.5
Florida -4.5
Alabama +2.5
Texas Tech +5.5
Ok St +4.5
