What's this vacation BS? One's body never gets a day off and neither does your health.
The knee thing is unfortunate, but remember, some people would kill to have that as their only physical barrier to exercise.

Can you swim or ride a bike out in the Red Rock area? I finally made it out there last trip, and that looks like a fun place.
hehehe..we look for excuses to do what we want to do....'keep the continue'

Being away from home most of the month of December will make it more difficult for me because I'm used to preparing my own meals and eating what I choose. Being with others I will be tagging along to restaurants, restricted to what family is serving, etc.
That's is why it will be more difficult, but I intend to stay the course.

I've made some great progress in the last week. Tonight I went for a 21 minute run on the treadmill and so far no knee pain. I'm beginning to think I hurt it when I moved, lifting heavy boxes etc. up flights of stair repeatedly and the rest helped it.

I also had my parents come in and my mother gave me some info she got from Weight Watchers. It is helpful stuff to know what is good and bad to eat and approximating calories.

I'm in this for the long haul and have made huge strides in lifestyle changes in the past month and a half. As of the last time I weighed myself I was down 5.5 pounds just from changing my eating and drinking habits. Project that over a year and it comes out to 44 pounds.

I would be thrilled to lose 44 pounds in a year and I think that may even be a little too much.

Right now, my immediate goal is to get down under 200 pounds. As of Sunday, I had 9.5 pounds to go and I've been very disciplined since then.

I'm still "keeping the continue".:103631605

Thanks to all for the words of encouragement and thanks for those that slap me around for a little tough love when I step out of line.

Have a happy Thanksgiving from me.
