I'd love to see Kaep do ride alongs and meet with local police departments in an effort to enact change. I'd also like to see him work with local community leaders on how to act while interacting with local policemen. If he isn't doing these things, it tells me he really isn't that interested in enacting change.

I've seen reports of many Miami Dolphin players doing that in Miami with great success.

A) He didn't sue the league and win.

B) He sold out IMO because his thing from the start was about bringing awareness to his perceived racial injustices taking place in America. He had a platform and his actions created a conversation right or wrong. Now, he doesn't have a platform nor can he have any sort of conversation about his settlement with the NFL. So, what did he gain other than a boat load of money?

If he was truly set on initiating change in America, he should of rejected the NFL's settlement, used the courtroom as a platform and taken the verdict so he wouldn't be forced to abide by the non-disclosure agreement.

Why doesn't he have a platform now? What platform did he have the last 2 years that he no longer has?

His protesting had nothing to do with the NFL, it was with the justice system/law enforcement. He can still talk about that all day if he wants. He just can't talk about the NFL.

He could start a KaepTV YouTube Channel tomorrow.

Man he really got the best of that deal.

Got paid $45M for like 2 good seasons. Plus a huge payday from this. Walks away with tons less CTE and messed up joints that most players. And forever politicized the NFL and made it far less fun for the assholes that couldn't stand someone kneeling.

It appears he didn't receive a huge payday from this.

However, PFT cites an unnamed source who says that this projection is “incorrect.”

Moreover, another source claims that the payout would have covered only the league’s legal expenses with “perhaps a bit more.” As PFT’s Mike Florio writes, “The anticipated legal expenses weren’t disclosed; chances are those amounts would have been in the seven figures, not in the eight figures.”

Another interesting tell, is the fact that Kaepernick is still allowed to seek employment in the NFL. Normally, in the case of large settlements, the former employee is essentially paid to go away and not allowed to pursue work with the company/league again. The fact that Kaepernick is still free to sign with another team would support the idea that his payout was not very significant.

Proving collusion is usually pretty hard. I doubt his lawyers had much. Not like the owners are blabbing at a meeting to one another about not signing him.

I doubt he had much of a case that he could prove (even though I don't think he is wrong, there was likely some coordination since the teams were using polling data to gauge signing him and much of it was very negative. Just sharing that info alone would be collusion)

https://www.vox.com/identities/2018...c-reid-collusion-grievance-protest-settlement

This a pretty good writeup on it but it is light on what the collusion evidence could've been since not much is known.

His platform was the NFL. He hasn’t had anything for the last two years except for the fact that he had the looming NFL collusion case which provided the news of the day news peg to continue covering the story. Now, that’s gone too so there’s really no reason to interview him anymore if you think about it.

A settlement to me isn’t selling out. Another article I was reading was stating that the settlement was more in favor of the NFL. Meaning they didn’t want to have stuff revealed to the public....which was going to be the next step.

People for some reason think CK sold out. I ask those ppl...where is the finish line then? The finish line was ALWAYS a lump sum of money. Because that’s how you make a lot of change is financially. Money talks. The NFL did not want that information out there. Emails conversations, videos, etc. did they want it to just go away or did they want to cover their ass?

There is NOTHING the nfl likes to do more than cover their own ass.

Gots to gets dat Paipa!

Nevermind Enfuego, Patsfans. His life's work for the last 2+ years has been scouring the internet for any and all articles he could find on Kap to keep the flame alive. Most of us moved on within the first month. For those of us that weren't posting multiple threads on this board telling everyone that we would no longer be watching the NFL (like anyone fucking cared), we realized that this so-called "NFL platform" Kap had disappeared within the first 6 to 8 weeks after his first kneel. Why? Because the NFL with the help of the networks simply stopped showing the players during the anthem. A pretty simple solution once they realized people apparently weren't smart enough to change the channel for a couple of minutes if this upset them. In the meantime, Kap's platform lived on by the media and the simpletons that clicked on every bit of fresh click bait they could find. So we continued to be treated by nonsense about how NIKE's stock was going to go into the toilet and all the little protests individual stores would do (great "free" advertising for them) due to all the people that simply didn't have the intelligence to just ignore it.

Enfuego will argue with you for the next 100 pages if you choose to engage him. He won't let it go because he was wrong about his stupid NIKE prediction and how the NFL was going to be hurt so bad by this. And now with Kap getting a settlement, he simply doesn't know what to do with himself.

Specifics of the settlement were not disclosed when the deal was reached Feb. 15, ending an 18-month standoff over claims by Kaepernick and Reid, former teammates with the San Francisco 49ers, that they had been denied jobs in the league because they knelt through the national anthem before games. They accused the league’s 32 teams of colluding to keep them out of the sport.

Much of the settlement will cover the fees of lawyers representing Kaepernick and Reid, one of the people with the knowledge of the agreement said Thursday, and the players will receive smaller, roughly equal amounts.

I don’t give a fuck if it’s a dollar bill or 20 Mil. Hes not breaking me off. But it’s still more than you ever thought he would win. That’s for sure. I am sure you are another who thought he never had a case and would never win a dime.

Hes already won. And you are/were just rooting that he doesn’t get paid a ton. Lmfao.

He and Reid sold out for less than $2M a piece. That's chump change to the NFL and now they don't have a platform at all.

Basically, they overplayed their hands.

Do you know how hard collusion is to prove?

Based off the reports of how much they settled for tells me how much evidence he had. That’s all it does.

He probabaly didnt have a ton but had something. Clearly had something. It is not easy to prove it and the usfl already tried and failed. Kaeperknick had something and won some sort of money regardless of what it is, he won money. I can’t knock that.

In the end, was it all worth it for him? He doesn't have a job and no platform to express his views.
