“I think it was a waste of time. He basically corrupted and diluted his message,” Johnson told TMZ on Friday. “First of all, if you’re going to go into an activism role…if your backdrop is gonna be the African-American civil rights presence they brought from the ’60s, and you’re gonna use that for your own causes, you don’t sell out.
“Now I don’t know what activist – Martin Luther King or Malcolm X – I don’t know what civil rights leader that you even saw or follow that made you even think that selling out to your oppressor or signing a deal with your oppressor was the way to go,” he continued.
“To me, it was a waste of time, and they took a lot of young kids down the wrong hole by selling out your message.”

The only thing wrong with this is you don't know if he sold out yet.

Highly doubt it'll be $60-80 million. All this proves is that Kaepernick just wanted money. Demanding $20 million from the AAF, then this shit. What a great role model for "social justice."

Glad no one signed this guy. Didn't deserve to play anyway.

Nah, it really doesn't yet. But I understand the "ready, fire, aim" group that we have here. I would say it's unfortunate we don't know the actual amount of the settlement. If it was $60 million and he shocked the world by taking the entire amount and used it for "his cause" (whatever the hell it is...he never really did a good job of articulating that), I'd say an objective person could at least say he actually believed in it. Admittedly, that still wouldn't matter to the group here who pass judgement a mere days (hours?) after a settlement.

He sold out to the NFL. If he had just cause against the NFL and had a point to prove and there was collusion and racial injustice in the US that swept the league that he believed in his fight, the NFL would have never been able to buy his silence. Making it about the money.

Now he may go start helping those (whoever they are) or a charity but he sold out to the NFL if he believed he had a Case against

Do you have any idea what you're even talking about? You don't appear to have any comprehension skills. That makes no sense whatsoever.

His "point" had nothing to do with collusion. Thought I better explain that to you since you seem to be clueless. Him not talking about the collusion case against the NFL has nothing to do with his so-called cause. I have no doubt he'll keep talking about social injustices and rail on the police.

Lol. Who is not understanding? My point is about the NFL. Nothing about his fight or cause for social injustice. Now let’s see if he continues his campaign against what he thinks are possibly a few bad police or social injustice or if he disappears

if he dissappears he sold out on both ends.

Seriously dude, you're an absolute moron. He was never kneeling to protest the NFL. I'm sorry you can't seem to understand this? The point you're trying to make is not revelant in the least.

BFL, have you heard of him doing anything to increase social awareness of systematic racism and oppression besides kneeling during the anthem? Anything substantive that is.

As he done anything at all to fix these injustices in the last two years?

Not sure why you're advising us to reserve judgement on him. I know you're trying to be pragmatic, but him fighting systematic racism is as likely as OJ is going to look for Nicole's killer.

How can he fight something that doesn't exist?

Yep, just trying to be reasonable here Willie and then when he does nothing, which as mentioned, is what both of us expect, then I'll pass judgement. Of course, you and I can have a rational conversation on this. You can lose some serious brain cells trying to talk to a few of these other posters. Mensa has nothing to worry about.

Since Body can’t seem to grasp and wants to call people names and doesn’t understand two different things

“On Friday, the NFL and attorneys for Kaepernick and former San Francisco 49ers teammate Eric Reid announced that
the pair’s complaint over alleged collusion among league owners to keep them unsigned had been settled out of court.”

"They gave him his money. What they got is they got his silence," said Francesa. "He won't point any fingers at the NFL publicly. For that, I guarantee Kaepernick got what he wanted, which is money...which is what he has wanted every step of the way. Money. He settled for money. He can't cite the NFL now. He got paid off. If this was about proving a point, they wouldn't have been able to buy his silence. They bought his silence. The NFL loses, but Kaepernick sold out because he can't even cite them, because he took the money. So they both lost. He beat them fair and square...he beat them for a bunch of money. He signed a confidential agreement and buried all the information for the cash.

I get that my friend. I guess the point I'm really making is you're choosing to fight a fight I would choose to walk away from.

An old proverb from somebody somewhere; "choose your fights wisely"
