May or may not be a good spot to note that since signing with the Cubs, "the best closer available!" entering 2019 has so far cost Cubs just over $700k per inning pitched and they are still on the hook for another $34m

There was a reason nobody touched him last off season. His analytics all pointed to this fall off.

Remember he only got signed in the middle of last season.

oh I am highly aware

If you can find the Offshore Forum thread from about late May/early June I was a volcano surrounded by ants with regard to firmly stating he (or any other man who works avg 60 IP) was a poor investment at anything more than maybe $5m

And via hindsight we can see that was even overly optimistic

Great! Then lets start. What do you want to play? Sports, Poker, ect. You can choose and we will proceed from there.

You talk shit, you call me out, then you want me to do all the work, priceless, go figure

And remember, don't wager more than you can afford to post up. No free rolling here

Speaking of analytics and cubs players. Analytics probably saved a team from paying Jake Arrieta 20-25 million per season and what a hot mess he has been.

I thought i was being considerate giving you the choice. Fine go to global poker and we will play 5/10 No limit holdem. I'll PM you my username there.

There aren't hu tables there, but i am known there and will ask others not to sit us as we sit at a 6 person table.

Also, how about this bet. $1,500 ill take Bucks and give you Celtics. Bet is paid if either wins championship.

I don't play poker, never had, said so on numerous occasions

Bucks are like + 350

C's are like + 700

I'll post up $ 1,750 for you if the Bucks win

You post up $ 3,500 for me if the C's win

Whoever wins gets $ 5,250, if neither wins we get our money back

Who do you want to hold the money? I nominate the man who holds the money for most of the forum contests, if he's willing to do such.

I won't reach out to him unless we agree on the terms

If we can find updated odds offered by a sportsbook tomorrow, we use them instead. But the concept remains unchanged

Going to run to get something to eat. Let me take a look at odds and ill get back too you in the next 45.

See, with the poker stuff, that's why i wanted you to chose what we were playing. You told me my poker theory was awful yet you don't even play, um okay. :)

I am not seeing the odds up on BookMaker for the title. They probably won't have them up til tomorrow.

If you want to settle it tonight, ill put up 2.5k to you 1.5k.

You also need to agree to take full responsibility for your guy. So if he dies, steals, whatever you are responsible for payment.

You agree?

Didn't see your updated message. But yes the +700 was obviously(by the time stamp) before the Celtics win tonight. So we will make the bet at the current odds once posted.

Fair response

I am guilty of overlooking the half dozen clubs who have more revenue to burn

Metro, I confess I approached "Opening Day2020" (July 24) w a highly skeptical attitude as someone who attended his first MLB game in Sept 1969

I still view it as primarily a high level hybrid of exhibition/real season but it has done well to give all clubs a better platform for entering Spring 2021. Like most seasons, I watch or radio listen while working a jobsite to almost every game

Probably helpful that my preferred team remains tops in the American League but regardless there are still plenty of 45+ year old men actively following The Great Game and many of us have fully recruited our 30something sons

great Sarge ! the game needs as many people like you as it can get

I never said your poker theory was awful, I said you're analogy was awful

Comparing a card game to a pitcher's conditioning

I never comment on poker strategy, I know me and I know what I think

Sounds good. Just a view details.

Venmo would be the quickest way to send the money. I believe i can send $2,500 in one transaction, but i'll need to double check if this method works for you.

Other things, All 3 of us will need to PM our cell phone numbers and I will also need him to text me a screen shot of the $4,500 in his Venmo account.

Lastly, i need you to PM me that you take full responsibility for the money. So if whatever happens to this guy and the money disappears your responsible for paying me if you lose the bet or if this bet ends in a tie.

If that all works for you, we should be set too go. Please ASAP this so we can work on transferring funds before tip.

I also wasn't comparing cards to conditioning. I was comparing a game to a game. Take a look at game theory.

It's why some people are excellent at daily fantasy sports because they break people down into numbers. It's also why many poker players have turned to daily fantasy.

GMs have learned obviously to do the same thing. It's has nothing to do with making hitters more famous then pitchers or driving down salaries for starting pitching that whole article was ridiculous.

I won't dive deeper, but i hope you at lest are understanding the point. :)
