I figured Trump would smash Maine, that's the type of state he smashes where it is a lot of working class voters who just hate politicians but aren't really ideological.

The sustained attacks on Trump may be now having an impact.
BUT - Not so fast
Kansas seems to be the state Trump is most likely to lose. The billionaire has done worse in caucuses and closed contests like Kansas's so far, and Ted Cruz won nearby Oklahoma as well as caucuses in Iowa and Alaska. So a Cruz win in Kansas wouldn't be all that surprising. Still, small caucus states won't be enough for Cruz — to actually beat Trump, the Texas senator needs to rack up some wins in populous primary states.
