For those who are interested, here is my present take overall on NC based on my following them for so many years.
Aside from the problem of their picks being posted for free(although not a given this year as many times we have received some of the plays after the
the games have begun and in some cases with the Marquees not at all), I think there is more of a curiosity feeling about what the NC
picks other than anything else other than of course the 5 stars or GOM.
I see each and every weekend that some folks always request the NC plays, but imo if they are not posted right away, they just move
on and request/look for the plays of the many other cappers out there, some of whom have been doing well of late.
I think that one of the big reasons that NC picks are requested in the first place because they are a household name to most folks and
especially to those who have been gambling for a while as NC goes back around 37 years or so.
Along the same lines I think there is a certain comfort level with their picks because 1) folks realize that they are not going to see such things as billion
star locks, 107-12 lifetime bs records or Play of My Life and other hype and crap.
Instead they are going to see plays rated from 3-5 stars only on weekends and a 2 star on Monday.
I think that that in itself brings a certain comfort level.
2) In addition I think there is a certain level with the number of plays released especially on Sunday when one knows that there are going to be three and
three only star rated plays released.
In all honesty, whether I play them or not, I als enjoy the selectivity on Sunday, as I know what their top plays are, and it just makes life easier in
deciding if I want to play some or all of their picks.
On the other hand, I think that one of the turnoffs especially for a non PowerSweep Subscriber is the Late Phone pricing, which imo is a bit high compared
to that of lots of other services whose records are at least as good as NC.
Yes and to be fair, NC does offer substantial discounts to those who subscribe to PS, although I don't think that the reduced prices are still any better
than other services or in many cases are simply not as good relative to the accuracy of the picks.
Also the very fact that there are so many sports services out there as compared to how many there were 10-20 years or even longer, detracts
from folks focusing on the NC picks alone(the same can be said for any service for that matter)when they people look at the varying gambling sites
on the internet and are literally bludgeoned with different services promoting their picks and in many cases having their picks posted
free of charge-you night say at this stage, that overall NC is regarded pretty much as another fish in the pond.
To be honest, even though I offer a lot of criticism of NC in this space about how the service is run along with the documentation
of its records, I am not sure that there is anything which is going to make NC profitable again no matter what they do and certainly
not to the extent of the good days of 20 years ago when NC flourished both because the picks overall did better than they do know and because of serious
and a multitude of competition.
I think that the only thing which MIGHT save them is that if NC went on a SUSTAINED winning streak for a number of weeks(unlike
the Saturday this season they went 9-1, but it turned out to be a one hit wonder) and somehow there was a way so that
their plays weren't posted at all, business would pick up substantially and especially so since they are so well know compared
to lots of services which haven't been around that long.
Anyways that is pretty much how I see it.
Thanks to all who took the time to read it, and as always, feel free to disagree and/or add your own commentary.
