ferrer wins!

Missed it. Sounds like it was a good one. Glad to see Ferrer got the win.

Presto, if it's ok with you, i'll post this play under your thread.

ATP-Los Angeles......10:30pm et

D Tursunov (RUS) +4 games -140 over A Roddick (USA)-- good spot for the quasi-American Dmitry, IMHO. He has two matches under his belt winning both in straights, with some very strong serving--that does not bode well for Andy who is an average returner at best. Tursunov has 26 aces in two matches and has dropped serve just twice.. He also just played a big server in youthful Querrey, should help him adjust to Andy's pace today. Dmitry should have support in the stands as he resides in California.......Roddick certainly hasn't looked 'brilliant' in his first two matches both won Vs players sitting well outside th e top 50 and neither with the tools Dmitry posseses. These two have met once before--in '05 on hardcourt with Andy winning 7-6,6-7,7-6.....hopefully another one of those matches is in the cards today.....

Yesterday I had Roddick -4.5 games vs Oudsema. Roddick lost the first set and I was sure the wager was dead. A miracle finish got me the win. No way I am laying 4 games withRoddick after that.
I think you make a good case for Tursnov +4 as these guys look on paper to be rather similar in stats.
Update. Too good to be true at this point. I see 5dime has Tursnov +3.5 -145. Still a good play, but too much juice at this point. I might take Tursnov SU in a parlay.

good luck with your plays Hope

Countrywide Classic - Los Angeles: Semi Finals
Sat 7/29 D. Tursunov vs F. Gonzalez
07:35 PM 1 D. Tursunov +181
2 F. Gonzalez -196

Tursunov didn't have to play Roddick yesterday due to WO. If he is ever to break is losing streak against Gonzalez, this is the time.

Tursunov +181
1.5/2.71

Good luck on your bet.......but be careful with players going deep into their tournament right before the next one. Many of these players don't play their best and just want a week off until the next tournament......... Unfortunately, I have learned this the hard way.

Thanks for the tip, Born2Run. I can use all the help I can find.

Do you think it is more of a physical thing or a mental thing when a player goes deep in one tournament and then starts another a few days later?

IMO I think it is probably more physical. 4+ matches back to back in a week with each match usually getting tougher understandably seems to take a lot out of most players....

Also be carefull the week (or 2 weeks) before the grand slams, many top players do not want to overexert themselves and will lose to inferior players. I like to check the players history coming into slams to see how much effort they have put out in the past......the slams are the best, you get to see everybodys best stuff.

I have found if you really pay attention, there is money to be made in tennis for sure..... and Railbird will throw us a bone every now and then too (although sometimes about 3 minutes before the match starts) :toast:

Thanks Born2Run. Good stuff about evaluating players' performance pre-grand slam.

As for Kohlschreiber. This play could win or lose. One thing is for sure: I paid way too much. He is now -238. Not exactly encouraging. We'll see how it all plays out in a few hours.
