fed played great tennis, serving extremely well and slicing every chance he got to del potro's backhand which he just couldn't handle. great strategy by federer.

simon's match was excellent, a lot of ups and downs. i thought he would prevail though, he's shown he's mentally tough and was returning unbelievably well. good tennis by karlovic though that's the best ive seen him play yet. he's greatly improved from the baseline by was no match against simon in that aspect.

honestly, i expected del potro to make it a lot more competitive, but fed proved too much in terms of strategy and serve. im just glad the first bet worked out in the end.
