rscl31,

I think it takes so much more to happen right for a road team to win a playoff game.

You couldn't be more correct.

You're system has called for something to happen that has never happened before (if i'm correct in assuming that no team has started on the road and won the playoffs).

I think the biggest shock yet was the 1997 Broncos, who not only won as a Wild Card but allowed an unheard of 4.7 ypr on defense during the regular season. (Before that the highest ypr allowed on defense by a Super Bowl champion was 4.3 by the '67 Packers and 4.2 by the '75 Steelers & '84 49ers).

Interesting thread.
I have to agree with LOU on this one, even though I generally don't make bold predictions that far in advance (reg. season). So much can happen between now and then.

Some reasons I agree on this selection are:
In today’s NFL, Team dynasties aren't what they were in the past. The talent gap between ball clubs are allot closer today than yesteryears, especially in the play offs. To me, the downside of this is a watered down league, where the caliper of teams don’t quite measure up to the great Super bowl teams of the past. On the up side, this makes for better “futures & odds” betting opportunities. In the parity driven league of today, the top seeds usually all have weaknesses that can be exposed during this time of the season. Tennessee IMO looks more balanced than any team out there.
Now that we have more division winners than before the league expansion, being a road team in the playoffs these days isn’t a true indicator of level of talent. Some division winners are in very week divisions vs. better teams from strong divisions. Granted, there are many more factors to consider.

Another thing that stands out is, last year the Titans were one step away from going to the big show. They have all the ingredients to go all the way this year barring injuries.
Is this a guarantee?

No…Just good odds to win by, money line included.

GL whatever you decide,

Lou my love, I gotta to bow to gods son here.

Baltimore is on the list and I simply fell in love with them today.

The Ram game set the tone for this team to destroy teams.

I am playing them this weekend in Vegas to win the AFC and superbowl..

They look mighty fine.

Lou, i did not lie.I went out and played the Ravens for the AFC championship at 6-1 and 13-1 for the super bowl. Now I got to keep the ticket to wipe my ass.So I lost.I am allowed to throw more money away if I want too?I like what I saw in the Ravens.

rscl31,

"So no team that has started out on the road in the playoffs has won the super bowl? I understand the criteria you use is for the regular season but don't you think that a factor like that is vital?"

The only reason Tennessee was on the road in the Wild Card round is because the league now has four divisions per conference instead of three. If the same scenario arose two years ago the Titans would have hosted a Wild Card game because they would have had the best record of the three wild card teams.

Remember, even though they are a #5 seed they had the third best record in the AFC along with Indianapolis.

I'm not disputing the fact you just stated because i completely agree with it.

However, keep in mind, when you go on the road in the playoffs you need breaks (Titans thoroughlyoutplayed the Ravens and still needed every tick of the clock). Now you are asking the team playing three road games to pull out the breaks three games in a row. Not impossible but just a very very difficult task.

Here's how sure I am about the Titans.

If Tennessee does not win the Super Bowl, I will not post here again.

Don't do that Lou.

Some of us will have some questions for you about your system after New England rolls up Tennsee.

You're supposed to read between the lines. That means Tennessee is going to win SU and I will be posting on Sunday. Got it now?

Agreed! I'd be willing to bet most of the people on New England this year lost money on them in the 2001 playoffs.

Not a doubt in my mind you have come across good information here. I just have one thought, if someone else came on this board and made a thread of who will win the biggest game in sports, however, they didn't want to cite the criteria because of all the hard work they put in, I would really hope it would meet skeptism. I mean although you may be sincere and feel you are right, please don't tell me you can see you don't see why people are peppering you with what the system is. I mean, do you expect them to believe everything they read without all the data ( i know you provided some) you use.
