I think that ranking is skewed from their opponents mostly passing because their behind. They do have the top rushing defense.

Hey ALmighty Fathead, Fatbob...Did you check my previous post??? Gave your lOSER ASS two winners with Green Bay bitch-slapping the Denver pussies and Tenn spanking Grudens clowns. Thought your LOSER ASS could enjoy a few winners. God knows you know nothing about winning....

Big Lou thanks for the heads up on Tennessee as you already know I have futures on them winning the AFC and the Super Bowl... Hopefully you'll be right and I'll collect the BIG BILL$$$$...

Yours in Winners---(Winning, something FatBob knows absolutely NOTHING ABOUT LOL)

Start your own Fat Bob thread if you're going to mention him every time you post something. Thank you.

Check out my NFL Playoff information thread and look at the section about running backs that gained 1,850 yards or more during the regular season. I'll bump it up for you.

I still say you can't predict the future by applying a filtering system to past events in order to determine an outcome in the future, whether it's the stock market or sports.

If you had used a filter that eliminates 0-2 teams from winning the super bowl, that would have worked fine up until 1993, when the Cowboys started 0-2 then won it all.

The make-up of the next 35 super bowl winners will be different from the last 35.

Why is 1,850 yards the cutoff? Is Lou saying that a team with a rusher who gains 1850 or more yards can't win it? Didn't the Broncos win in when T Davis had 2,008?

Big Lou - I hope you are right. I can't figure out why people are giving you sh!t about posting your SuperBowl winner. I guess some people have such a boring life that they have to bash others.

Anyway, GL on your SuperBowl pick.

I don't follow overall rankings of team defenses. The defensive ranking that has held up through playoff history is defensive yards per rush.

Since the first Super Bowl only four teams that allowed 4.6 ypr or more during the regular season have made it to the conference finals ('69 Browns, '74 Raiders, '84 Dolphins & '97 Broncos) with Miami & Denver reaching the Super Bowl and the Broncos the only team to win it all.

Another thing to look for are teams whose defense has been giving up big runs during the playoffs even though they are winning. The 2001 Rams were a perfect exmaple of this. Although they allowed 3.8 ypr during the regular season they were giving up 5.2 ypr in their wins over Green Bay and Philadelphia in the playoffs. So it was no surprise when New England averaged 5.3 ypr against them in the Super Bowl and upset the heavily favored Rams.

i have to tell you though, i still have doubts whether a team that relies on the passing game, and a defense that isnt in the top 10 can win the superbowl.

RPM........I dont think you can say that Tenn doesnt have a top ten defense.....Sure they may not be statistically ranked in the top ten but when you lead the league in rush defense as the titans do, then naturally you are going to give up more passing yardage do to the fact teams give up on the run because they cant and teams being behind and having to pass.

By the way Lou......are you playing Tenn in a futures(around 10-1) or is it a better payoff to play game to game?????

BIG LOU, you're the one WHO "promised" to tell all after the regular season; now you are reneging. My past comments stand, unless you post your "system" play as promised before the playoffs.

This is my final reply to you because you are either too lazy or too ignorant to check the facts. Nowhere did I say I was going to post the entire list of criteria used in selecting the Super Bowl winner. Here is my post from the fourth page of this thread.

"When I was posting plays during the regular season I would always do a write-up to show people why I was wagering on a particular team. I do the same for any selections I make for the Wild Card, Divisional Round or Conference Finals as well. But when it comes to the Super Bowl, I do not release the information I use for one simple reason. I have spent decades gathering information and researching history and feel I have one of the most comprehensive Super Bowl databases around. I'm not going to just give that info away. I have posted my Super Bowl pick two years running and they have both hit but I did not give any information as to why I was on them."

I am going to talk about it to some degree but as I stated above all the information used for this is not going to be posted. I want people to do their own research, as I did.

You have made your point that you do not believe in this. Any further posts from you will not be responded to. Good luck to you.

Big Lou
