One more thing Josh,

If you don't think players get just as beat up in every other conference as the SEC, you shouldn't be posting here. Stick to your tailgating and limit yourself to that expertise. You'd be better off.

If Oregon didn't lose their first 4 starting QBs and 7 or 8 other key starters before they came apart, we wouldn't even be talking about this and you'd be knocking the Oregon Ducks for getting into the NC game by bad ref decisions. You'd be knocking Dennis Dixon for winning the Heisman in a piss poor weak conference. You wouldn't need to be putting down USC, it would be Oregon you'd be dissing, all full of yourself the way you are.

The only thing better about the SEC is one, maybe 2 teams more that excel compared to other conferences, smaller conferences with less teams in most cases. Sooner or later Miami and FSU will get their shit together and you won't even survive playing in Florida AT ALL. Send a few more teams out west to play top Pac-10 teams and the SEC myth will evaporate. The only thing that separates the SEC from everyone else is one or 2 teams, that's all. Your football is no better or worse than anywhere else. Get over yourself.

You must be kidding me. LSU nearly lost to an often lower ranked team than Stanford (Oregon St.) in LA! Never say never. You'll just end up as humiliated and depressed about losing out west like Ferris.

Still waiting for you to prove that USC turned down a series with LSU.... I won't hold my breath.

Your argument is dumb. You and every other rational person take your pick … an cake-walk conference schedule (8-9 games) and a couple few "tough non-conference games' OR would you take a brutal conference schedule and a couple few cake-walk games? I don’t think there’s an argument there.

Also, it’s HILARIOUS to me that people with talk up Notre Dame and call them a “tough non-conference opponent”, but when they are selected to play LSU in the Sugar Bowl, all we hear is how they don’t belong because they are overrated and are way outmatched. There’s no doubt they are overrated and were outmatched, but if that’s the case, don’t use the exact opposite argument when you beat them and call them a “tough non-conference opponent” when they clearly were not.
The reason the SEC conference schedule looks brutal is that they play a cake-walk OOC schedule. UCLA might only win 3 games this year, and they have to play #18 UT, @ #17 BYU, & #25 FSU @ #20 Oregon, @ #16 ASU, & #2 USC. If they played an SEC type schedule, They would play MTSU instead of UT, home vs. Utah State instead of at BYU, home vs SDSU and probably go 7-5.

I'm not denying that the SEC is the best conference, but that doesn't mean that they play a tougher schedule.

So, then why did Cal knock Tennessee's dicks in the dirt last season?

Yes, the SEC is the best conference, but to sit their and say it is what the Big East was in 1985 College Hoops, (3 Final Four Teams) is a joke.

How does Florida lose 4 games, did their speed diminish in 1 season.

This entire argument is predicated upon 2 things. OSU being overconfident going into the Florida game and LSU being better than OSU last season, so based on this all of a sudden the SEC is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Question, when was the last time Florida played an OOC out of the state of Florida? When was the last time Tennesse traveled north like Texas, USC, Miami to play anyone?

How did Georgia lose to a 1 dimensional team in the Sugar Bowl 2 years ago. What they didn't have the speed to stop Pat White and Steve Slaton?

Nope, The Florida speed was there and still here today. UF was a top 5 offense nationally, replacing 9 starters from one of the better defenses UF has ever had is another thing. I see that you don't really read between the lines too well.

Mississippi beat LSU a few years back. I can't imagine ANY Pac-10 team losing to Mississippi, EVER... or probably UAB who also beat LSU. Even Washington could have beaten Kentucky last year, but LSU couldn't do it. (Maybe it's because Rich Brooks used to coach in the Pac-10.) There's your own argument thrown back at you. Still make any sense?

Well you can start proving it by showing everyone that you can spell though I don't care if you talk like a gorilla if you can pick winners.

2008 preseason schedules, who plays teams ranked teams?

USC - #3 OSU, #16 ASU , #20 Oregon

LSU - #1 Georgia, #5 Florida, #11 Auburn

which looks tougher ?

so what if USC plays Notre dame every year, thats about the same as LSu playing Arkansas, or Florida playing South Carolina

add to this the SEC winner has to play in a championship game vs a liely top 10 team before teh bowl game .

USC has to schedule tough games for SOS for BCS jockeying. SEC teams dont. how obvious can it be?

Alabama may have the nations toughest schedule they play #1, #6, #9, #11, and #18...now scroll back up and look at USC's, wow.

USC's looks tougher then LSU's, as they have to play ASU and UO in consecutive weeks, where LSU gets Auburn sandwiched around North Texas and Miss St., Florida between Miss St. and South Carolina, and Georgia between SC and Tulane.

I'll give you Bama has a tougher schedule on paper right now, but then compare theirs to Washington's #21 UO, #16 BYU, #4OU in 3 straight weeks, then later on in the season #3 USC and #15 ASU back-to-back.

You forgot something Ferris, (as usual you tell 1/2 truths)

Appalachian St., Troy, N.Texas, Tulane

LSU's non-conf. games. Not even another SEC team shames itself with such lowlife competition as LSU this year. Throw in Miss., Miss St. and Alabama (all @ LSU) and they need only 2 more wins to get to 9 for the year. They win just one of the 3 you mentioned and that puts them at 10! I'm sure that will keep them well ranked. Now that's some slick scheduling. What a breeze. Looks good in the polls too.

And kudos to you for some fine cherry picking the facts just right! I must say y'all got your game down pretty good. The comparisons between you and the way the SEC works it are astonishingly similar... "stylewise."

Where do they teach you to blow smoke up people's asses so well?

One thing I learned after reading this entire thread is the only thing I'm certain of is that Josh doesn't know spelling. That is brutal to read.

Why do so many people have trouble with the forms of the word lose? See it all from loose to using loses (I don't mean losses) when you mean loss. Shit folks it isn't that hard. The two best posts in this thread are Boxslayer's post and Conan's last post right above this one. All the rest was useless pissing matches.

That said I look forward to tailing some picks from many of you this year. A recent job change should allow me to watch more games on Saturday's.

as far as LSU would never lose to a team as shitty as Stanford lets just say this. In the last 9 years alone LSU has lost games to Houston and Alabama-Brimingham both at home by the way. So don't say never.

Simple fact is this. The SEC is from top to bottom the best but some of you SEC homers take it way to far. Saying that the top 3 teams in the nation are all in the SEC is ridiculous. LSU isn't even sure who's going to be the QB yet. Thats kind of a big deal. A huge part of college football is the QB. Why were Kansas, and Missouri both good last year. Because of the QB.

By the way guys like Mel Kiper have been saying all over ESPN that OSU and USC have more talant than anybody in the country. I think Kiper might know more than anybody on this board don't you think. Christ OSU could very well have the best defensive player in the country and the heisman trophy winner on the offense in wells.
