Not really sure of the "technical" differences go2.....I mean groups like Devo were considered "new wave" where synth pop, was just what it said, the overuse of synthesisers to enhance the music, basically the kind of song that sounded alot better on the radio, than in concert....LOL

Motels did "only the lonely", and a couple others,

Naked Eyes was famous for their one hit "Promises, promises" which was an awesome song, back then....

Here are some more one hit wonders, can you tell me who sang them?

"Too Shy, shy"
"Video killed the Radio Star"
"Come on Eileen"
"You Spin me round"
"people are people" ** not a one hit wonder
"I know, there's something goin on" ** Jman might know this one
"Somebody's Watchin me"
"Bas-ket-ball"
"Electric Avenue"
"Centipede"
"Suave'"
"She Blinded me with Science"
"Obsession"
"Let the Music Play"
"I touch Myself"
"I ran"

Ok, I'm only 20...
But I do know 2 of these
I touch Myself- Divinyls
I ran- flock of seagulls or seagulls..it's on my ipod

Bee Gees were a victim of their own success....when you listen to that SNF soundtrack now, good stuff if in the right frame of mind.

One of the things some of my friends don't know is I'm a 80s pop/new wave fan not all of it but some of it. They can deal with the Hall and Oates and stuff but when I put on "Steppin' Out" or "Africa" I get some strange looks. Funny that some people don't know, some of the music they listen to today is sampled from these genres.
i saw hall and oates...they opened for ELO....stole the show playing white man blues....damn good show
