may help if the people that are owed money are given an explanation of his illness? then perhaps it will help to understand the seriousness, resulting in delay of payment.

problem is , that's just talk. unless you're his accountant , you don't know if 35k is chump change... people talk, some people base their opinions on talk..

I know. Everyone is good for it until they aren’t.

What I’m saying is if Hache says it is true then you gotta give him that benefit of the doubt for the time being.

But like I said in my original lost, the response after 6 weeks of no payment needed to be much, much more emphatic than “be patient”

Everyone for the longest time believed in Madoff. My point , you just never know about people and certain situations until it hits you. BAS might be well off. BAS could have run into difficulties with all of this. Hache has a good perception of BAS , but he's not an accountant for BAS , so its pretty much perception at this point

$35k is not chump change to anyone. Guys like Bill Gates or Lebron James have infinite money but they understand that $35k is a lot of money.

The only thing we know is that BAS is a stand up guy and whether it is easy to come up with or he is scrambling to gather money, he is going to do all he can to make it right. Not like lots of other people that realize it is easy to just dig out and keep all the $.

However, everyone calling him out like this and dragging his name through the mud probably doesn't make him try to get the money any sooner. In fact it is probably doing the opposite.

All the guys who have played in contests he ran or was involved in over the years will agree he's trustworthy I'm sure.

To think after years of doing this he would suddenly decide to keep anyone's money doesn't really make sense.
i agree. BAS has over many years always been a stand up guy with a great reputation. That makes me very concerned for his health and well being. i hope it works out the best for him.

True, if you ever met Shrink, $35k was peanuts, until it wasn’t. How much you owed Red Eye?

Yeah, I know. Just saying that’s all they have to go by. I wouldn’t put faith into the chump change comments for too long but they’ll have to hope that is correct for now.

For the other mod to say the suggestion he can’t pay is laughable, he must be confident this isn’t going to be an issue. Time will tell I guess.

Some have already made it clear that they don't care what's wrong with him.

I don't feel it's my place to reveal anything about his personal life to anyone, but it's to the point I think he wouldn't mind.

While he was in vacation out of the country, he had a heart attack.

When he returned to the states, the doctors said he also suffered a stroke.

He created this thread the first couple days he was in the hospital.

He was a scheduled for release.

But just after that, he had another stroke while in the hospital.

It was then that the doctors made his family take his electronic devices away.

So now hoping for a release soon.

Since I have nothing to do with this, I didn't HAVE to tell you guys anything.

To be honest I know zilch about the contests that were held.

Going to be a lot of apologies owed to BAS once he is capable of completing all of this.

Full healthy recovery to him no doubt. The guy is stand up, his health and recovery important first and foremost.

Well, I think the guys owed 35k wanted some clarity. That’s a lot of money to most people.

Glad you were able to provide it.

Hope everything else goes smoothly.

I have a feeling that this may be a lot more serious for BAS than many believe. I don't have a dog in this fight but I believe the money is good.

If anyone is really concerned, discount and sell your wager to someone who knows BAS and knows that they will eventually get paid.

You may not have any takers but at this point there are very few options other than to ride it out. You are going to get paid, it's just a matter of when

I use to know a dude on here that was a stand-up guy as well. People are stand up, until they aren't stand up anymore.

Sad stuff but it is what it is.

Local .. totally agree I have seen many also in the 20 yrs I'm posting here .. but I think at this point it's to far of a jump to put him in that group ... In my opinion
