sorry chris was away. I think the match is very strange. Odds dropped on away win in last half hour from 8.00 to 400 with the total dropping from 2.75 goals to 2 goals !! really insane odds changes only explained by knowing a Macedonian team is involved, and may be producing another very shady result.

plus these favs are horrible today...Cluj, Dnipro, Maccabi, HSV, Standard, Brann all struggling or losing

just another year of brutal CL and UEFA results it seems

Botafogo vs Internacional (Brazil Sun)
- certainly worth a shot on the away win in this one. Had Inter last week with the debut of Abel Braga and they dominated Goias in the 1-0 win. This is a team with a lot of talent and should never be this heavy of an underdog versus, what I consider, a midtable squad. Bota were the darlings early on in this tourney but have come back to earth and are in a downtrend for sure, winless in 4 and just 2 wins in 9. They've actually failed to draw a home game this season which is very odd, but I can't help myself with the away win odds. Inter repeat the team that defeated Goias while Bota have a doubt in their striker Dodo. Inter have had nice success here winning 1-0 in the last two trips and 3-1-1 in last 5. Predict Inter 1-0
Internacional away win @4.50 $80/280

Newell's v Estudiantes (Argentina Sunday)
- Newell's should be a decent favorite in this one but odds set pretty much even. ELP will be without best players Veron, Salgueiro, and Luguercio due to injury and of course sold last year's best players Sosa and Pavone. So this is a pretty inept attacking team today. Newell's defeated the champions in their 1st match while ELP are off to a 2-0-0 start winning both games they were favored in so far this season. San Lorenzo are a better club than ELP which makes the odds for home win more confusing since Newell's were roughly 2.30 home favs in that match. Despite the strange odds I'll stake on a home win. predict Newell's 2-1
Newell's home win @2.45 $100/145

Nautico v Atletico MG (Brazil Sunday)
- nice chance for an over goals match and odds at bookmaker are worthy of a bet. Nautico ended a goal scoring slump at home knocking in 4 against Figueira in their last match and have scored 10 times in the last 3 games. They have some fitness issues with Felipe's attacking partner but they will score as MG have not kept a road clean sheet in 2 months. Atletico on a run of 8 straight games of 3+ goals and have scored 2, 2, and 3 in their last 3 road games. Nautico have conceded in 7 of their last 8 home games...6 times conceding at least 2 goals so defenses are not very good in this one but each have some attacking power. The fixture in May ended 2-1 to Atletico MG and last year, in Brazil B, matches ended 3-0 at Nautico and 3-1 at Atletico. predict 2-2
Nautico / Atl-MG over 2.5 goals @1.71 $280/200

a couple of bad weeks...hope to get on track

Belgium v Slovenia (Euro 2008 qualie)
Serbian coach, Clemente, is very defensive and any betting on under is suggested. Match much more important to visitors but Belgium could care less about that and will fight hard. Draw result not a disaster for Serbia so cautious play is expected
Serbia u2.5 is 6-2 in last 8 and 15-5 in last20
Belgian u2.5 is 3-2 last 5, 6-3 last 9, and 13-6 last 19
Belgium/Serbia u2.5 goals @1.67 $160/100

Montenegro v Slovenia (Int Friendly)
- wow Slovenian football is in a major downtrend, nowhere near the team that took the field in WC2002. They've been brutal in Euro 2008 qualies losing away 3-0, 4-2, and 2-0, while drawing poor Albania 0-0 and losing at home to Romania and Holland. At this point Montenegro are on par with Slovenia and should not be underdogs. Montenegro are a fairly new team together though so nothing is sure, but I do know that odds should not favor Slovenia here.
Montenegro home win @2.70 $120/204

Peru at Costa Rica (Wed night Friendly)
Peru with new coach and has selected mostly domestic players. After the 3-0 shocker over Uruguay in Copa America, Peru failed to win again losing to Venez and Arg and drawing Bolivia. Since the WC qualifiers their friendly results have been unimpressive, 2-3-5 total, with 3 of those matches against Ecuador. They played 4 against Concacaf teams drawing Jamaica and TNT, and splitting two games with Panama. None of those teams are at Costa Rica's level and CR will field pretty much their strongest team. They clearly take friendlies seriously and by bringing in several international folks it looks like they are taking this one seriously too. San Jose has been hit with a lot of rain but they will play on an artificial field, so should be in good shape. Peru catches a break because it will be very mild temperature where usually it would not be so kind in late August. You may know Peru was hit with a strong earthquake last week (2000+ dead or wounded) and some regulars dropped out of this game because of family issues resulting from the quake, so players have other things on their minds too. Also because of outer bands of Hurricane Dean, Peru were unable to arrive before today.
From a footballing point of view I rate Costa Rica and Peru pretty even but without their top players (Pizarro, Solano, Farfan, Guerrero) Peru are very weak in attack. If CR would have been more impressive in Copa America I'd be on them strong but they were poor. In that unspectacular Gold Cup they beat only Guadeloupe while losing to Mexico and Canada + drawing Haiti.

Costa Rica home friendlies 2007:
June 2, 07 Chile 2-0
Mar 24, 07 New Zeal 4-0
Feb 4, 07 TNT 4-0

Probable Starters:

Costa Rica: José F. Porras, Roy Myrie, Víctor Cordero, Jervis Drummond, Pablo Chinchilla, Michael Barrantes, Wálter Centeno, Óscar Rojas, Rónald Gómez, Víctor Núñez y Alonso Solís. D. T.: Hernán Medford.

Perú: Leao Butrán, Amilton Prado, Wálter Vilchez, Miguel Angel Villalta, Wenceslao Fernández, Reiner Torres, Juan Jayo, Pedro García, Martín Hidalgo, Johan Fano y Juan Diego González. D. T.: José del Solar.

Estadio: Ricardo Saprissa.

Costa Rica home win 2.35+(2.44 at 5dimes) $150/216

cannot win a match right now. Belgium game went over and Montenegro tied at 1 despite leading 1-0 with man advantage. After 1-1 they missed 3 insane chances and hit the bar on a 4th in the 2nd half. This is as bad of a stretch as can be had

Tough luck bro. It'll pick up. I've always found soccer the hardest to cap. It's the sport with so many variables that anything can happen, and so its alot harder for a bettor. It's the only sport that I'll take a break from when I'm having a tough time! If that's not your style... It'll pick up and good luck on your next picks! :toast:

thanks guys. been capping soccer for 6 years and this is an awful run of results. luckily my plays are 50-500 where they've always been 100-1000 but since I can only take 1x2 bets now at BM (much prefer taking a lot of level balls and -1/4 than I do 2.25-2.65 type odds) I was forced to cut in half. If you go back in forum a year you can see my previous results when asian HC's were in my bag. does not excuse this disgusting run but will continue over the weekend. maybe

watch but don't bet weekend at least for my own picks. Here's what I liked though

Chester City vs Dag and Red (English 2nd league)
- Chester were tipped for a midtable finish after decent signings and started well with a draw vs promotion candidate, Chesterfield, and a win away at Rochdale who finished just outside the playoffs last season. The Daggers are newly promoted and made no significant transfers. Predictable start to season drawing at home to average Wycombe and losing away to a good Stockport team. Look like home win at +104 olympic

Charlton v Wednesday (Eng Championship)
- really great looking bet. Wednesday are in shambles with a terrible defense and average attack. They do return some injured players but now travel to the best team in the league. Charlton not the greatest start but very typical of a dropped team shaking off the early cobwebs. They should win this going away and Olympic have -125
