Umm, the ISIS has already claimed responsibility and other arrests may be imminent. Also, the guy had a higher security clearance than most civilians, so your "he never should have been able to acquire a gun!" theory is hysterical.

Why don't you just STFU and let the facts develop instead of making a total ass of yourself marching in lock-step to an ever changing left wing narrative.

Oh, I know...because you're an ideologue! :ohno:
Of course they did. The mentally unstable idiot also pledged allegiance to the Boston Bombers. Does that mean the idiot Tsarnev in Jail helped plan this also? I didn't start a thread ridiculing this being a hate crime. That would be one of you idiots, so perhaps you should have told Gassy that before he started the thread.

Yes I do. A straight man doesn't willingly pose in a bed of Purple flowers, to attract women.
When are you going to ask other posters if they actually believe I'm a Muslim, a Raghead, a self hating Jew, an ISIS Sympathizer, a Christian hater, and all the rest of the disgusting things that have been said about me?

Um, that wasn't Joe in that picture that someone stalked. Interesting. You're the first one I think in the history of the forum to call Joe gay, and
all from a picture that someone stalked, that isn't even him. Brilliant.

If I had to explain "Hate Crime" to a 6th grader I would tell him this.

If a person attacks another person because the victim is of a certain subset of people, such as race, religion, or sexuality, and the crime would not have occured otherwise if they weren't.

You can debate all day whether this FIRST AND FOREMOST act of terrorism is a hate crime.

Now I'll tell you why it doesn't matter.....

Hate crime laws were designed in order to give a deserved longer sentence to the perp based upon the person he targeted. The perp is dead. Therefore the specific goal of the hate crime law is no longer an issue. Had the perp lived it would be another matter. However mass murder already supercedes the matter with at least a life sentence.

Hate crime laws were enacted more to punish bullying and assault.

Liberals promote hate crime legislation in order to legitimize certain lifestyles and cultures by declaring them to be protected by law, essentially to chill free speech that criticizes those lifestyles and cultures.

As a social conservative and economic libertarian, I firmly believe the only true minority (and the most persecuted and ignored group in the country right now) is the individual.

Calling something a "hate crime" does nothing but piss off anyone outside of these government-protected groups.

Both Muslims and gays are on the liberal protected species list, so I'm quite amused by all the tap dancing surrounding this attack, so as not to offend either one of their sacred cows.

Idiot. Hate crimes include targeted attacks on Jews, Blacks, Christians, Muslims, Gays, etc. Not your sick fantasy of certain lifestyles of protected groups.

It actually continues to blow up the theories of idiots like you that try to make this out to be an ISIS, controlled from abroad attack. It's exactly what most with common sense(which lets most of you idiots out)said it was, a targeted hate crime with an assault weapon, committed by a crazy person, that a guy with his prior problems, should never have been allowed to get legally.

He had security clearance.

Plus he was screened and cleared twice by his employer

G4S is the largest security firm in the world.

Government contractor security firm where Orlando gunman worked says he passed two background checks

 • Gunman Omar Mateen worked at G4S, the world's largest security firm
 • The British company said he passed two background checks - one when he started in 2007 and another in 2013
 • During the most recent review, they learned that Mateen had been questioned by the FBI

So how the hell is anyone going to stop him buying a gun.

He had clearance from G4S, so buying a gun was a cake walk.

Mateen had worked for G4S since 2007, the world's largest security company formerly called Wackenhut, which provides guards for US nuclear facilities

Yes, well, targeted attacks on someone wearing a certain hat is just as criminal and damaging for the victim - only the victim won't be on your stupid feel good left wing protected list.

Crime is crime.

Idiot.

It's both terrorism and a hate crime. Anyone trying to delete one or the other is just doing it for political purposes.
By your logic, since he's dead, it doesn't matter what his motivation was??? So why harp on the Radical Islamic aspect, but not on the hate crime aspect.
Needless to say, I disagree with your analysis. It's important to try and ascertain the why's, to hopefully help us prevent the next one(s).

You are obsessed with Jews.

Get a grip there are 16 million Jews in the World. A very small population.

There are 1.6 billion Muslims.

Why are you obsessed with 16 million Jews.

Do you fear them so much.

We will disagree whether it's him or not. If it wasn't him, why was it scrubbed all over the net, as soon as it was posted here? And that Picture was gay as hell.

If they're attacked for wearing a yarmulke, or whatever the head gear Muslims wear, then it is indeed a hate crime. Idiot.

It does matter what the motivation was. It is vitally important.

Radical ISLAM is HATE. They go hand in hand. You can't have one without the other.

He was a radical Islamist and therefore he hated all infidels.

Yet if I'm attacked for wearing a Yankees baseball cap it's a crime but not a "hate crime" - because the Yankees don't have the political clout to make your stupid politically correct list.

Liberalism really is a mental disorder.

A list that includes Jews and Christians is a politically correct list? EVERYONE is on the protected list against a Hate crime, idiot. "hate crime laws protect everyone from bias crimes. Hate crime laws prohibit committing a crime against a person because of the person’s race, religion (including atheism), ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. Because everyone has a race, religion, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation, hate crime laws protect everyone"
You are truly insane.

It's a hate crime if you get a first rate prosecutor. Or if a witness says they yelled, "Fucking Yankees" while beating you. Or if you get a really liberal judge :)

If "hate crime laws protect everyone from bias crimes" there is no need for "hate crimes" in the first place - everyone is covered. Duh!

Hate crime is a backdoor way of criminalizing speech - a cheap way for politicians to score voter points by claiming to protect certain groups of voters by criminalizing the thought process of others.

Like this:

Here are the members of Congress who voted against protecting gay people from hate crimes:
http://www.vox.com/2016/6/12/11912076/orlando-florida-mass-shooting-gay-hate-crime-law

Until gay people figure out Democrats are their worst enemy because of their equal love for gay-hating bloodthirsty Muslims! :ohno:

Only the most gullible Guessers fall for this two-faced politically correct nonsense.

To hell with political correctness and "hate crimes", here's what a real leader sounds like:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Our nation is at war. From 9/11 to the Boston Marathon, from Fort Hood to Chattanooga, from San Bernardino to last night’s horrific attack in Orlando, radical Islamic terrorism has declared jihad on America,

“Early reports indicate the Orlando terrorist had pledged his allegiance to ISIS, and he had previously been investigated by the FBI. And yet, as with the prior attacks, we were not able to act to stop this act of vicious terrorism that has now murdered 50 and injured more than 50 others.

“Our hearts go out to those killed and wounded last night. Our prayers are with their families, and with all their grieving loved ones.

“It is a time for action. We need a Commander in Chief who will speak the truth, and who will unleash the full force and fury of the American military to utterly destroy ISIS and its affiliates. We need to pass the Expatriate Terrorist Act, so that known ISIS terrorists cannot use U.S. passports to return to America and wage jihad. We need a President who is serious – who will identify the enemy by name and do everything necessary to defeat it.

“The next few days will be sadly predictable. Democrats will try to use this attack to change the subject. As a matter of rigid ideology, far too many Democrats – from Barack Obama to Hillary Clinton – will refuse to utter the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’ They will claim this attack, like they claimed every previous attack, was isolated and had nothing to do with the vicious Islamist theology that is daily waging war on us across the globe. And they will try to exploit this terror attack to undermine the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms of law-abiding Americans.

“Enough is enough. What we need is for every American – Democrat and Republican – to come together, abandon political correctness, and unite in defeating radical Islamic terrorism.

“ISIS doesn’t just target soldiers. They don’t just target Republicans. Or Jews. They also target Christians and fellow Muslims. They target each and every one of us. As we saw this morning, they target the gay and lesbian community. Their objective, which they broadcast worldwide, is to murder or forcibly convert every single American.

“For all the Democrats who are loud champions of the gay and lesbian community whenever there is a culture battle waging, now is the opportunity to speak out against an ideology that calls for the murder of gays and lesbians. ISIS and the theocracy in Iran (supported with American taxpayer dollars) regularly murder homosexuals, throwing them from buildings and burying them under rocks. This is wrong, it is evil, and we must all stand against it. Every human being has a right to live according to his or her faith and conscience, and nobody has a right to murder someone who doesn’t share their faith or sexual orientation. If you’re a Democratic politician and you really want to stand for LGBT, show real courage and stand up against the vicious ideology that has targeted our fellow Americans for murder.

“Today, all of America stands in solidarity with the people of Orlando. All of us should lift them up in prayer, demand action, and if you have any information about the Orlando shooter or potential radical Islamic terror plots, please act to keep us safe by using the FBI tips website:https://tips.fbi.gov.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ted Cruz would have made a fine president. What a shame.
