Hate to bring up politics but....

Its an election year.

The ironic thing is people who LOVE to bitch about freeloaders STILL want their $600 check

There's a safety net, there's a short term thing, and then there's the welfare career

You do the math

I wouldn't worry about the 600 bucks..handing out PPP like it's candy if the stock market is moving up it's all good ..my favorite is Korean air receiving 5 million in PPP.
This government could give a RATS ASS about the populous...get real, we are just getting in the way of the super rich getting richer..
It's a joke...good fucking thing you can take trip on a cruse ship after this is over.. I say let these companies fail..someone would recapitalize these industries if they are viable..

This should make everyone sick

Townhouse in nice area...UPS, USPS, FEDEX, DHL always delivering packages and always new outfits too

We have a "questionable" in my neighborhood as well. Sticks out like an eye sore (thats all i'm saying)

Anyways, a neighbor tells me that when you have 2 stories, MORE people could live in the home. Never put 2 and 2 together on that one but he's 100% correct.

There are times i'll take a "quick count" and i'll get up to 11 as i dont want to stare too long.

However i'll always waive when they are outside and i'm driving by :)

Many of us happy getting stimulus checks and unemployment while the "BIG DOGS" are getting hundreds of thousands if not millions in grants and forgivable loans as the rich get richer and the less fortunate have to fight one another to see who gets the last scrap of the piece of meat on the bone.

I'm for the 600 bucks..I'm not getting it but have no problem with helping Americans directly.
It's disgusting ... the large cap names on the PPP list are sick..Including hedge funds and well capitalized long standing corporations.
I'm not sure people understand the stock market and the economy have decoupled.. A healthy stock market is not an indicator of the real problems in the economy...

With that I'm in the market large but holding my nose and ass hoping it will continue but doubt the viability medium term.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help

looks like identity fraud running while as they turn it into unemployment bucks....

https://news.ntd.com/unemployment-insurance-fraud-spikes-fbi_483281.html

The FBI is seeing a spike in unemployment insurance fraud during the CCP virus crisis. Criminals are stealing people’s identities and then applying for unemployment benefits in the victims’ names.

BOSTON —Massachusetts has recovered more than $158 million from fraudulent unemployment claims after identifying tens of thousands of incidents of fraud since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, officials announced Tuesday.
Because of the rampant fraud, which officials said is part of a nationwide scheme, new identity verification efforts are being implemented by the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance.

This thing was very very poorly thought out. The assistance is ok....but there needs to be things to stop the abuse. I know people who qualify for $40/week through unemployment and now get $640/week. Second jobs or part time students getting crazy extra money and taking advantage of the poorly thought out assistance.

When was the last time the government put out a program that was well thought out and executed?

That's what we need to worry about? College students getting an extra $600 a week? Not the hundreds of millions that went to big companies for a program that was suppose to help out small struggling business during the pandemic.

That's one of the larger problems in this country that doesn't get discussed. We love to "police" ourselves and just accept the rich taking advantage and just continue to get richer. Because we have been programmed as a society that is acceptable.

A whole thread worry about the lower earners in our society getting an extra $600 a week, like that is the problem. God help us.

So since you never answered the question posed to you, should I assume the reason you think it should continue is because the rich are getting richer?

Seems like this thread is just calling out people who can make more money staying home and doing nothing than actually going to work.

Way to miss the point. Seems to be par for the course for you.

Paying millions of people more money to sit at home than they'd make working and producing something is the easiest way to destroy the national economy. If you can't understand that rudimentary point, that lots of people producing nothing is bad for an economy, there's truly no helping you.

Add in that liberals want to continue importing low wage workers in a time period where Americans are out of work in record numbers, and even a literal retard could probably understand the end game.

The people who are making more are the young and part time workers.

People who have real jobs are not making more than working or refusing to work.

Many of these people do not have a job to go back and looking for a job, you want them to take a low paying job so you can be happy they are not
getting 600 extra a week

Really the ignorance on this site is ridiculous sometimes. It is not black and white
Yes some are taking advantage of it, but others are screwed without it....

So both sides here wake the fuck up!!!

Once the 600 ends the economy will be gong down, it is being propped up right now.
People will not be paying their bills or spending money on anything once it ends
That is a cold hard fact!

Also what do you think is going to happen when all the businesses who got PPP
have been paying employees all this time whether they are open or not. When the date to keep these employees is up
many places are not open or only half open, will be laying off people as they will not have to pay back the money as it has turned into a grant

I have talked with many who will be doing this at their company or know it will be happening at their company

Also it depends where you live, here in MA things are not good, as the idiot governor is keeping things closed
many places are only half open, once that date hits layoffs will be happening...

If the government does not do something the economy is going to plummet, it is being propped up and not real right now
Jobs will not be added, they will be cut. Moving forward things are not going to be good

Big companies are going to be cutting middle managers, people who make 6 figures...

Those are the ones that i am fine with getting $600 a week. Its not much, but its something to keep them a float.

Its the ones making slightly more/the same/less then the $600 per week PLUS State Unemployment who REFUSE to go back to work b/c of "safety issues" who are getting paid to do nothing.

I personally know people who are doing this and doing jack shit all day posting on facebook which shows to watch on netflix/hulu/amazon every fucking day

I'd love to see the numbers on this to get some clarity

Thanks THawk, for adding a different perspective on this. That's why I started the thread. I mentioned in the initial post that people just can't recreated themselves that quickly, especially on the jobs you're talking about. This thing has only been going on for a few months. You don't exactly change careers that quickly.

600 is too generous, cut it to 200 for a few more months and we shall see after.

a lot of people in the restaurants, in NYC anyways, work a day or two, they make sure they are under the limit
so they still get the extra 600 bucks.

So that should be taken away
