the Mets could win it still and you will lose a dime...up to you.

I am sort of rooting for the Phillies....i have counted that $500 all season as already in my pocket.

GDEAD...if you don't pay a bet, that makes you a stiff...the only fool here is you...and you are all over the forums ripping books for not paying....see a little bit of a double standard here...

My thoughts exacttly.:nono5:

I wouldn't consider chop a stiff unless he is still having contact with Jman on a decently regular basis.

I look at it like JMan up and moved away. If Jman wins the bet it is his responsibility to contact Chop about it.

First off it is wrong for you to assume Jman wouldn't pay you if you won. Journeyman has paid me on bets before, one as recently as this summer.

I would easily say you have to pay him.

But now that I read your post about the wager still pending and you not thinking he will honor the bet, I think you should both send the amount owed to a 3rd party and let them pay the winner.

If J-man won't do that, then he has no intention of paying up, and thus the bet should be cancelled.

Can you tell us what the exact wager was?

A. Don't brag about paying off your debts. Nobody wants to hear you patting yourself on the back for something you are supposed to do.

B. If it is a fact that JM owes that Cigar guy , then pay him. If that is disputable pay J.M.

This is why I wanted to get this debate started before the bet was complete.

This is an open wager.

Nobody has won or lost this bet yet.

I want to come to a resolution before a winner is determined.

Im leaning towards paying, but it sure is a sick feeling knowing that if I win, my odds of getting payed are slim.
you might of got stiffed for sure............tough makin a bet where only one side can win.....but you seem like an honorable guy and i know you will sleep better if you pay........plus he probably needs the 500 so good deed also............lot of points for later

Doesnt matter if he would have paid you or not. You lose a bet ,you should pay it. If you dont pay it, you are a stiff. No excuse can make not paying right.

You need to pay Journeyman. You would have NO BUSINESS paying Cigarman. His bet with Journey has nothing to do with you. You ONLY pay the man that you owe

Ah, Chop... for as much hell as I give you, you're a totally honest guy and paid me when you lost that silly poker bet. I may give you grief about your math and your gambling skills, but you're certainly a man of your word and completely honorable in my book. Even if it is a total clown you're dealing with, pay it up if you lose. If you win and don't get paid, you write it off to bad debt and know that you're the better man for it. I guess that's part of the whole "making wagers with strangers on the internet" thing. (Not meant to be a bash)

I was under the impression that Journey made it clear that if he lost he wasnt paying. Look at it this way kids. Imagine winning some cash at lets say Atlas. They dont pay you. No excuse at all for not paying. It is my opinion that Atlas now deserves to be screwed over by you. Does that make you a stiff? If you say yes then I say you are a complete idiot and its no wonder you call me a stiff. If a person cant differentiate between not paying someone who stiffed you first and just straight up not paying someone then I think you're brain needs some work. That is why i said karma is a bitch. My bad!!!:nohead:
