Free MLB Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take ‘Over' 8.5 Chicago White Sox at Los Angeles Angels (10 p.m., Wednesday, May 11)
Welcome back, Jake Peavy. There is only one problem with Peavy: his arm is shot. The guy has been talking a great game and I give him an “A” for effort in trying to work his way back from shoulder surgery. But he is done, and I think he will either last about two innings on Wednesday, or he will make it five innings but get lit up. He has given up 13 runs in just 23 innings (5.09 ERA) in five rehab starts between Double- and Triple-A, and this is his MLB debut this year. Yeah, I'm betting against him doing very much and the ‘over' is 6-1 in his last seven road starts. His counterpart is Tyler Chatwood, a rookie with some decent stuff but nothing that has blown me away. The White Sox are seeing him for the second time and the first meeting went the rookie's way (seven innings and one run allowed). I expect the Sox to make adjustments. Also, the youngster is coming off an eight-inning, two-hit effort last week against the Indians. He threw 111 pitches in that outing and I think he's going to have a bit of a tough time bouncing back from that. This total has opened at 8.0 but I am posting at 8.5 because I think the sharps will get on this total and push it upwards.
Look for some scoring and look for this one to get ‘over' thanks to the White Sox bullpen.
