Pittsburgh Penguins -190 over NEW YORK ISLANDERS, 10 dimes
I know that an unusually large percentage of my NHL selections have involved the Penguins, but I continually find value in backing them in certain situations. This is one of those situations. Pittsburgh has owned this series, running at a 16-5 clip over the last 21 meetings. The Penguins have also taken 5 in a row in this series, and 8 of the last 9. Crosby is on a 25 game point streak, ripping off an average of close to 2 points a game! The Penguins' goaltending has also been outstanding with Marc-Andre Fleury returning to form this season. Ride the hot hand here, and watch Pittsburgh pile on the goals at the Nassau Coliseum!
Memphis Grizzlies -4 over SACRAMENTO KINGS, 10 dimes
Memphis is 3-0 SU and ATS in the last 3 meetings between these two teams, and they are meeting Sacramento at an opportune time. The Kings have only won 1 out of their last 17 games, and they've only covered the spread 4 times during that stretch. Memphis, on the other hand, has been playing tough of late. They've won their last two SU and ATS, and have gone 8-2 ATS in the last ten games. Their game is just as strong on the road, as they have gone 5-1 ATS in their last 6 as visitors. I'm surprised that this line was only set at 4 because I see the Grizzlies easily rolling over the home team tonight. Lay the chalk!
Alamo Bowl: Oklahoma State Cowboys -4 over Arizona Wildcats, 10 dimes
This is a no-brainer selection for the Alamo Bowl, as Oklahoma State's blistering, top-ranked offensive attack is going to be way too much for Arizona to handle. Not only is the Cowboys' passing attack one of the most dangerous in the land, their running back, Kendall Hunter, has plowed for over 1,500 yards and 16 TD's this season. Arizona's defense has shown this season that they are vulnerable to giving up huge numbers on the ground. I expect to see a run-heavy attack from OK State, with some deep strikes leading to touchdowns through the air.
