I always make my own lines before checking those posted.
This serves two purposes:
1) Finding a mistake made by the oddsmakers.
2) Finding a correctable mistake by the analyst..... me.
I would have set this line higher in The Cowboys favor.
They have great receivers. If Justin Blackmon decides to leave
school he should be taken in the first round.
Running back Kendall Hunter is 7th in the nation, averaging 126 ypg.
Their 27 year old junior QB, Brandon Weeden, has NFL DNA, and
will probably enter the draft.(He played professional baseball
prior to college.)
Oklahoma State's offense seems to be ripening with age. They led
the FBS in total yards per game, and scored 41 pts against Oklahoma,
which has one of the best pass defenses in the country.
After a strong start Arizona ended the season with 4 losses.
Two of the those were against USC and Oregon.
They also have talented receivers, and a good QB in Nick Foles,
who is healthier after a knee injury.
The passing offense is ranked 9th in the country. The rushing
offense is marginal. Their defense has been the major problem.
They've allowed 456 yards ppg, and not forced many turnovers.
These totals are much worse than earlier in the season.
Anyway.... when looking back at old games, The Cowboys
have one unit in particular that is not impressive.
It is the cornerbacks. Which is the main reason their passing
defense is ranked almost last in the country.
Wildcat kicker, Alex Zendejas (even with issues in his
last game), and Cowboy kicker, Dan Bailey,
are addtional scoring options, who completed an impressive
37 for 44 combined attempts this season.
We've seen in prior years, that added time off from
the regular season until the bowl games has aided The Unders.
That's not the case so far this year, and I don't think
it matters this evening.
