GAME OF THE WEEK
5 UNIT* CBB* Iowa Hawkeyes -2

Iowa -2 over Wake Forest:

3 of 4 Winning CBB Days (3-0 with 5* Gotw this year)

Iowa is a solid team and I think that will show today. I have Iowa as a top 100 team in my power rankings and I have Wake as a top 200 team. Yes, WakeForest as a top 200 team. I am sure that Wake will rise in the coming weeks as they are a capable team, but right now this team has not "gelled" to its capacity yet. For example, Iowa has defeated and faced the likes of Alabama and fell short to Xavier by 13 who is a top 50 team and has faced other decent teams such as Long BeachState and South DakotaState who are all top 150 teams. Wake is outside this margin. Whereas Iowa has faced four teams in the top 150, and one in the top 50, Wake has faced just one top 50 team in VCU who they lost to by 21 at home. In fact, Wake's 3 wins come against teams that are outside the top 100 and in fact, are outside the top 200 (Hampton, Elon and Marist). I'm sure that Wake will eventually bring this young team together, but right now, Iowa is the more experienced and fluid team and I can see the Hawkeyes getting up to play the ACC team here. I believe the spread is placed the way it is as the public is likely on the wrong side in this game and Iowa wins this game on the road. I like Iowa's SOS thus far here and Wake has yet to defeat a top 200 team nevertheless a top 100 team, and I believe Iowa likely gets the road win here.

Hello CPAW and the forum. I haven't been on this site in quite some time, only to see the Langster is back??? Didn't he get fired from that site he started? Did he start a new one somewhere else? Where did you guys see this? CPAW, can you confirm this? Sorry for all the questions and thanx in advance. Just mind boggling to see him back.

NBA GAME OF THE MONTH
New Jersey at New York 7:30pm EST
Selection: NEW JERSEY +4.5
New York hasn't been a good home team all season and now they enter this game as a decent sized home favorite against a team that can win outright. The Knicks are 2-4-1 against the spread and 2-5 straight up at home. They are also coming off of a very tiring double overtime road win at Detroit just two days ago. New York also doesn't have good depth at all, and starting point guard Raymond Felton is dealing with an ailing back. Because of the depth problem, playing this game just two days later after starters playing two overtimes is a huge problem for the Knicks, especially when you're asking them to cover as a favorite of two possessions. New Jersey is just 4-6 straight up in their last 10 games, but they are 6-3 against the spread on the road. The Nets are also coming off of a motivational boost by getting a home win over Portland two days ago. New Jersey is well rested and playing better and better under head coach Avery Johnson, who has made a good impact on this team. Look for the Nets to win this game outright.
