Denver at LA Lakers
Play: LA Lakers -8.5

The Lakers have been a bit complacent in a few recent games with lackluster wins over lousy teams leading to a 2-4 ATS record in the past six games. This game however will be a statement opportunity with the current #2 seed Nuggets visiting the Staples Center in a possible Western Conference Finals preview. Denver beat the Lakers in late February and this will be a key match-up for Los Angeles as they had won the previous nine meetings between these teams, only failing to cover once in that span despite several significant spreads. Denver has won eight in a road but most of those games came at home and against non-playoff contenders. The Nuggets had to play a tougher than expected game last night against Oklahoma City and this could be a daunting second straight game in as many nights. Defensively the Lakers have allowed ten fewer points per game than the Nuggets and Andrew Bynum is expected to play tonight. The home team is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings between these teams and when properly motivated the Lakers are still clearly the best team in the league.

Philadelphia at Chicago
Play: Philadelphia +6

Philly has lost 3 straight and are trying to capture the #5 seed in the Conference. Chicago is looking to get into the playoffs, and should get there. They are within 2.5 games of Philly. The Sixers have won 2 of 3 this season in the series, and have won 3 straight at Chicago. We Have a Philly team trying to straighten out as they head into the playoffs and really are desperate for a win. Chicago has been playing great at home especially, but with a big game for both clubs. I don't think Chicago should be this big of a favorite.I'll gladly take the points, as I think we see a superior effort from Philly with a chance to win this one. This should be close throughout and decided late in the game.

Milwaukee at San Francisco
Pick: Milwaukee +107

Starter Matt Cain is 8-25 against the money line in the first half of the season over the last 3 seasons. The Giants are just 6-14 in Cain's last 20 starts as a home favorite of -110 to -150.The Giants are just 4-13 in their last 17 home games vs. a left-handed starter and the Brewers start lefty Parra tonight. The Brewers are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings. Take the Brewers as a very small dog.

double-dime bet 502 CHI -6.0 (-110) BetUS vs 501 PHI
Analysis: PLAY: CHICAGO
RATING: DOUBLE DIME PLAY

This is a great spot for Chicago revenge and here's why they get it. First Philadelphia is in the final game of a 3 game road trip which is always a great spot to fade the road team. Philadelphia gave their all in their last game as they were coming off their worst loss of the season the game before. Even with that huge effort they came up short losing by 3. Finally and most importantly is the fact that Philadelphia is playing host to LeBron and Company tommorrow night in the city of Brotherly Love. My numbers have Chicago winning by 10-13 points. This is my NBA TNT Game of the Month.

Philadelphia has won the last two contests versus Chicago and five of the last seven, including three straight the United Center. Go with the Sixers. Philadelphia is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 games in Chicago.

Denver Nuggets (53-26) at L.A. Lakers Lakers (62-16)
The total has gone 'under' in the last six clashes and nine of the last 12 at the Staples Center. In spite of this, both the Lakers and Nuggets are on fire. Denver has average 115 points per game in their last five, while Los Angeles is averaging 107 points per game. Take the over!

LAKERS -8.5 OVER DENVER @ 10 30 et

Stan notes the lakers have a habit of playing to the level of their competition . Giving the fact that denver is the hottest team in the nba right now winning 12 of their last 13 and that the lakers play with revenge . Stan expects a huge game from the lakers tonight . Stan has them winning by 12-14 points . **DOUBLE DIME **

Thursday's Action

500♦ Denver Nuggets

In a game that both teams have plenty to play off with playoff seeds still up for grabs I expect a much closer game than expected. You see for the Nuggets who have won 13 of their last 14 games, including their last four games by double digits it’s tough to think that they will lose by double digits tonight. Especially once you factor in that it was Denver who won the last series meeting beating Los Angeles 90-79 at home in late February. Plus, at 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four games on the highway I am convinced that Denver will make a game of it tonight.

Meanwhile, for the Lakers despite their dominating series numbers the few numbers that stick out tonight is the fact that Los Angeles has dropped four of their last five games at home against the spread and their 11 point loss to Denver in the most recent series meeting.

Bottom line I look for a close game tonight in Southern California as while I don’t expect for Denver to win outright, but I do see the Nuggets staying inside the number.

Take the Nuggets plus the points!
