Oklahoma City vs Atlanta
NBA - 509 Atlanta Hawks @ 510 Oklahoma City Thunder
If you remember my pick which involved Atlanta, where I took them on over 182 points in a game which ended with 202 points, with the Hawks defeating the Raptors by 110-92. I think the oddmakers are committing the same mistake in another game of the Hawks. I know Josh Smith won’t probably play today, but the truth is that he got injured early in the game against Toronto (he just played for 11 minutes) and the team still scored 110 points! How is it possible? Confidence!
The Hawks are with a lot of confidence right now and they made 34 assists against the Raptors, showing an amazing ball movement and very high levels of confidence. After that win, the team has again a low line! 183 points? Are you kidding me? This team is scoring 100 points against any team right and once again I refer that 183 points doesn’t even need an high scoring game to go over!
Today Atlanta will face the Thunder, who lost at Utah by 97-104 two nights ago, but that game had two different parts. Oklahoma scored just 29 points in the first half, but then they woke up and scored 68 points in the second half! What was the key for that change? Kevin Durant said it all:
“We can’t start out like that,” Durant said. “The second half we did a much better job of going out and being the aggressor. We’ve just got to do that early on and we’ll be all right.”
I think the Thunder will continue have this approach in today’s game, after all they scored 68 points in a half in Utah, so all they have to do is keep doing that. The Thunder outscored the Jazz by 34-20, while going 11 times to the charity stripe, which shows how aggressive the team was. So, I think we will have a good game in here, with both teams having good offensive performances. I remember the Over is 6-0 in the Hawks last 6 games against a team with a winning % below .400. And with this game having a line of just 183 points, it will be enough for both teams to cross the 90 points mark for the game to go over. Take the over in here.

NBA Free Pick: Charlotte Bobcats vs Toronto Raptors

Charlotte vs Toronto
NBA - 501 Toronto Raptors @ 502 Charlotte Bobcats
The Raptors are coming from two consecutive losses against Detroit and Atlanta. After a good start, Toronto was outplayed by two good teams, especially Atlanta who even without Josh Smith played a great game. Jermaine O’Neal has recovered and had a great game at Atlanta, with 7-10 FG and the team even though they lost by 92-110 was defeated by one of the best teams of the league right now. Today they will face a different team.
The Bobcats are coming from an huge win at home against the Hornets, but they didn’t impress that much. The Hornets overlooked the Bobcats and they lost because of that. The Bobcats were an aggressive team and managed to get 31 FT attempts against just 19 attempts for the Hornets. Even though they had just 15A and 14TO, the team won due to their willingness.
Toronto is a much superior team than the Bobcats and what we need to have in account is if the Raptors will make the same mistake of the Hornets and I don’t think so, as the team is coming from two losses and Bosh has said it all:
“There’s no way we should lose three in a row,” he said after the loss in Atlanta. “We have to win in Charlotte.”
In Charlotte, there are rumors that Gerald Wallace will be traded and coincidently or not, this has been affecting his performances on the court: 1-5 FG vs Hornets. The X factor of this game will be on the frontcourt, where the Raptors will have a tremendous edge. In 11 career games against Charlotte, Bosh is averaging 24 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. O’Neal, in the same number of games, has averaged 21.4 points and 10 rebounds. The only big man Charlotte has, Emeka Okafor missed practice Saturday with flu symptoms. Thing will get complicated for them against a team, who will be desperately looking for a win.
The Bobcats have been struggling against teams with a good ball movement: Cleveland and Detroit. The Raptors are part of this very same category of teams. I like the Raptors in here, in order to bounce back at the same time the Bobcats are into a letdown spot. Take Toronto in here.
