Cleveland (-7) over Boston
Saturday, May 1 – 7:05 PM CST
Cleveland is nearly untouchable at home. they are 38-6 at Quicken Loans Arena, with two of those losses coming in the final four games of the season – when the Cavs had already locked up home-court advantage. They outscored opponents by 8.8 PPG at home this season and out-rebounded them by 4.1 RPG. Boston has a respectable road record this season, with a 27-16 mark away from home (including playoffs). They are overvalued here because of strong play in the first round against Miami. Miami does not boast the overall playmakers and talent that Cleveland does. Cleveland has more size, and an inside/outside attack, led by the MVP of the NBA.
These two last met in the playoffs two years ago. The Celtics were the heavily favored team that time around, but needed seven games to oust the Cavs. They would go on to win the NBA title. The home team won every game in that series, and the Cavs went 6-1 ATS.
A lot was made of LeBron James’ elbow injury late in the game against the Bulls on Tuesday. James cleared it up in an interview, saying: ''If I am limited during the game, then I'll be smart about it,'' James said. ''That's what I was able to do in Game 5 against the Bulls. I was very limited in shooting long-range shots, so I started going to the hole in the fourth quarter.''
If Boston's defense allows the Cavs as many good shots as it gave Miami, the Celtics will be in trouble, because Cleveland won't clank them. Cleveland can spread the floor with a bevy of three-point shooters and a scrappy rebounder or two and while the game's best player goes to work. Go with Cleveland to get the easy win on Saturday.
