On paper Pitt seems to be the better over all team. Although NC is ranked #6 in the country for its total defence. NC has won its last 4-5 while Pitt has gone 3-5. So NC seems to be the hotter team. Big question here is Pitt motivated? Pitt lost their bid to be playing in the Sugar Bowl, do they want to be in Charlotte today? North Carolina been to three bowls haven't won one yet? Pitt and NC have played twice before with NC winning both. A.B.A.T.S. has it this way. We ran simulations with no input motivation factors, Pitt won 72% at an average point margin 8.6. We than ran simulations with an input factor of 3.0 in favor of NC. To our surprise second simulation showed Pitt still winning 64% with an average winning margin of 3.3 points. Public is heavy on NC to cover spread, spread has dropped from 3 to 1.5, 1 depending on book. With the points dropping it basically becomes a pick em game. A.B.A.T.S. simulations shows a low scoring game and NC just not having the fire power to beat Pitt today.

Pete Carroll is a master motivator and look for him to use the suspensions of 3 USC players and the fact that everyone is now picking against them to his advantage. BC isn't Oregon or Stanford and USC wins by double digits here 24-14.
