ATLANTA @ DETROIT 4:00 ET

AFTER GOING 0-16 LAST YEAR, DETROIT WILL TAKE ANY WIN WHETHER ITS PRESEASON OR NOT. NEW HEAD COACH JIM SCHWARTZ WAS THE DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR FOR TENNESSEE THE LAST 8 YEARS. HE WILL MAKE SURE DETROIT WINS GAMES AND TODAY WILL BE THE FIRST. WITH QBS CULPEPPER, STANTON AND ROOKIE STAFFORD LOOK FOR THE OFFENSE TO SCORE ENOUGH AND LIMIT ATLANTA CHANCES. ATLANTA'S COACH SMITH WILL HAVE HIS STARTERS PLAY VERY LITTLE AND JUST GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS. QBS RYAN, REDMAN, SHOCKLEY AND WILSON WILL THROW VERY LITTLE. DETROIT AT HOME WINS THIS GAME.

Bucs at Titans
Pick: Under 35

The Titans already have a game under their belt, winning the Hall of Fame Game, 21-18, while this is the opener for a Tampa Bay team with new looks everywhere. The Bucs have a new coach in Raheem Morris. They have virtually no QB experience with rookie QB Josh Freeman, Josh Johnson, Byron Leftwich and Luke McCown. Talk about a shoddy rotation! Morris also said Luke McCown is slated to play 12 to 15 snaps as the starting quarterback in Nashville, with veteran Byron Leftwich receiving approximately the same amount of playing time. Rookie Josh Freeman and second-year pro Josh Johnson will each play in the second half against the Titans. WRs Antonio Bryant (knee), Michael Clayton (hamstring) and Kelly Campbell (quad) will be sidelined Saturday, along with center Jeff Faine (groin), linebacker Angelo Crowell (hamstring), kicker Matt Bryant (hamstring) and punter Josh Bidwell (hip). Tampa Bay is 6-2 SU/ATS the last 2 years in preseason, but that was under Jon Gruden (and with better QBs). Tennessee (1-0 SU, 0-1-1 ATS) pulled out all the stops in the first half Sunday against the Bills, with a 21-6 halftime lead. Then they got sloppy in the second half behind QBs Vince Young and Alex Mortensen. Veteran QBs Kerry Collins and Patrick Ramsey looked sharp. QB Young will play about two quarters against the Buccaneers after Collins handles the first two or three series, Coach Jeff Fisher said. Patrick Ramsey, who was signed to battle Young, will also see action. Tennessee loves the power running game for outstanding coach Jeff Fisher, but they didn't impress in the opener with only 73 yards rushing (2.4 ypc). There is great depth with RBs LenDale White, Chris Johnson, Chris Henry, rookie JeVon Ringer and Rafael Little behind a good offensive line. Although Pro Bowl center Kevin Mawae, his surgically-repaired right elbow still on the mend, is still on the sideline. Fisher is 30-24 SU, 27-24-3 overall in preseason, including 16-9 SU/13-10-2 ATS the last six+ pre-seasons. The first-team Tennessee defense played great in the opener and faces a Tampa Bay team with below-average QB talent (and no established starter). I see a tough night for the TB offense, but also don't expect anything but a very conservative Titans game plan, so the Under is the play in this game.

Bills -3 over Bears

Buffalo's 2nd and 3rd string units impressed me as they battled back and dominated the Titans last week in the second half. Buffalo did lose the game, but it shows that their backups can play. The Bears have a horrible QB rotation and after Cutler have nobody that can do major damage. It always helps when a team is playing their second preseason game against a team in their first. I expect the Bills starters to play a little longer than the Bears. Take the Bills.

Dodgers ML –120 for 3 units

I fell this is a good spot if any for the Dodgers to get back on track after losing 2 games in a row and getting dominated against with Haren on the hill yesterday. Davis has struggled against the Dodgers in his last 4 games he has struggled to go 5 innings going 1-3 with a 7.50 ERA. Kuroda will be starting for the Dodgers and he has had 5 quality starts in a row with the Dodgers going 5-0 in that stretch. With the Dodgers being 11-3 against Arizona their last 14 games overall and coming off a loss yesterday I see this as a good spot for a Dodgers team that needs a win.

Jordans write up for today!!

Chris Jordan Another Run Line Game of the Year winner ...
600♦ ST. LOUIS CARDINALS (WITH Pineiro over Stauffer) - The Padres have now given up 21 runs the past two days – 12 in Milwaukee on Thursday and nine last night in the series opener with the NL Central-leading Cardinals. It’s a shame for the lowly Friars they have to continue this series on a Saturday night, and the opposing pitcher is red-hot Joel Pineiro.

A shame!

Pineiro, who is one of three St. Louis pitchers with 10 or more wins, should have no trouble earning his fifth straight victory, while leading the Cardinals to win their eighth straight home game over the Padres tonight. Impressively, Pineiro’s 4-0 run is accompanied by a 2.76 ERA over his last seven starts, dating back to an Interleague loss to Minnesota on June 28. And the Cardinals, well, they’re 7-0 during that stretch.

The right-hander, who allowed three runs over seven innings last Sunday to earn the 7-3 win at Pittsburgh, has shown so much improvement on the mound this season, as he simplified his delivery from a high three-quarters to an overhand, and by saying back on the rubber and driving to the plate better, he’s getting tremendous sinking action on his two-seam fastball.

So after being baffled by Adam Wainwright’s junk yesterday, San Diego’s lethargic lineup will find it extremely tough when Pineiro challenges hitters inside with his heater, and then mixing in with his downer curveball (which could be misconstrued for the sinking fastball). He’ll also play ball with a wide slider that has plenty of depth, and an above-average changeup to freeze batters.

Simply put, this San Diego lineup is poised for humiliation against a rotation like this.

We’ll get our run support from a lineup that stroked 15 hits in last night’s 9-2 win over San Diego for their 12th victory in 16 games. And it’s not necessarily just last night, as Albert Pujols is batting .457 in his last nine games while newly acquired Matt Holliday has three straight three-hit games and is batting .493 with 20 RBI in 19 games since being acquired in a trade with Oakland last month.

This is a lineup that will jump all over Tim Stauffer, who has lost two straight and is 1-4 on the season.

The Cardinals, who have won six straight over the Friars, are currently on a 12-4 tear since winning a four-game set that began on July 27 against the Dodgers.

They’ve opened up a 4-1/2-game lead over Chicago in the NL Central and came into series after winning two of three against the Reds earlier in the week. The Redbirds showed no signs of slowing down with last night’s win over these Padres – their 7th straight over San Diego at Busch – while improving to 8-3 in their last 11 at home.

Lay the RUN LINE tonight!!!

Good Luck All!! :toast:
