Saturday's Lineup
50 DIME ---- RANGERS (With Holland and Penny as listed pitchers)
TEXAS RANGERS (With Holland and Penny as listed pitchers) --- The stupid Texas bullpen cost me a perfect 3-0 sweep last night and I'm not letting them get away with it. After leading the entire game, the Rangers promptly imploded in the top of the 9th inning, allowing six runs on seven hits (thanks Frankie) and watched a 4-2 lead evaporate to the tune of an 8-4 loss. That's not going to sit well with the Rangers as they get set to battle the Sox again in Arlington. Remember, these two teams are in a heated battle for the Wild Card spot and neither team can afford to drop a game like that, so that's why I believe the Rangers are coming out with revenge on their minds. You just don't go into a place like Texas (where the Rangers are 37-22) and take a win away from the home team like that and expect not to get a battle the next time you step on the field. Texas will bring the heavy artillery tonight.
There's also a huge pitching discrepancy for Boston when comparing last night to tonight. John Lester has proven himself as an ace. The guy is one of the better left-handers in the big leagues and has been pitching quite well as of late. He did his best for 6 innings (11 Ks), but Kevin Millwood was just a little better. In the end, it didn't matter though. Tonight the Red Sox hesitantly trot out Brad Penny and hope to get at least five or six solid innings out of him. I don't see it happening. This overweight righty has really struggled recently, allowing 15 earned runs in his last 17 IP and 21 earned runs in his last 28 IP. What's interesting about Penny is the fact he's pitched 5 times at home in his last seven games, and the two roadies he's had have been some of his worst of the year. In those two contests, Penny allowed 14 hits and 11 earned runs in 11 innings of work. That's right... a 9.00 ERA in his last two road starts... and he's expected to come into a hitter's paradise like Texas and keep them down? Good luck.
For Texas, I really like what I've been seeing from this kid Derek Holland. The young lefty from Ohio doesn't have great stuff yet, but in two of his last three starts he's been as good as any pitcher in baseball. His last start was a complete game, three-hit shutout in Los Angeles. Two games before that he went 8.2 innings allowing just one run in a 7-1 win vs. Seattle. What's most impressive to me is his ability to keep his pitch count down to the point the coaches can keep him in the ball game into the 8th and 9th. After watching last night's bullpen implosion, I think this is the best thing for the Rangers. Holland is still learning and doesn't have a great season ERA (5.04), but you can't judge a young pitcher based on what he did early on... you have to look at what he's done for you lately --- and the Rangers couldn't be more happy than this. Texas has won 9 of their last 11 at home while the Red Sox have dropped eight straight road games when listed as the underdog. By the time you bet this game, the Red Sox will be the dog. Play the Texas Rangers as your top play of the day.

600♦ ST. LOUIS CARDINALS (WITH Pineiro over Stauffer) - The Padres have now given up 21 runs the past two days – 12 in Milwaukee on Thursday and nine last night in the series opener with the NL Central-leading Cardinals. It’s a shame for the lowly Friars they have to continue this series on a Saturday night, and the opposing pitcher is red-hot Joel Pineiro.
A shame!
Pineiro, who is one of three St. Louis pitchers with 10 or more wins, should have no trouble earning his fifth straight victory, while leading the Cardinals to win their eighth straight home game over the Padres tonight. Impressively, Pineiro’s 4-0 run is accompanied by a 2.76 ERA over his last seven starts, dating back to an Interleague loss to Minnesota on June 28. And the Cardinals, well, they’re 7-0 during that stretch.
The right-hander, who allowed three runs over seven innings last Sunday to earn the 7-3 win at Pittsburgh, has shown so much improvement on the mound this season, as he simplified his delivery from a high three-quarters to an overhand, and by saying back on the rubber and driving to the plate better, he’s getting tremendous sinking action on his two-seam fastball.
So after being baffled by Adam Wainwright’s junk yesterday, San Diego’s lethargic lineup will find it extremely tough when Pineiro challenges hitters inside with his heater, and then mixing in with his downer curveball (which could be misconstrued for the sinking fastball). He’ll also play ball with a wide slider that has plenty of depth, and an above-average changeup to freeze batters.
Simply put, this San Diego lineup is poised for humiliation against a rotation like this.
We’ll get our run support from a lineup that stroked 15 hits in last night’s 9-2 win over San Diego for their 12th victory in 16 games. And it’s not necessarily just last night, as Albert Pujols is batting .457 in his last nine games while newly acquired Matt Holliday has three straight three-hit games and is batting .493 with 20 RBI in 19 games since being acquired in a trade with Oakland last month.
This is a lineup that will jump all over Tim Stauffer, who has lost two straight and is 1-4 on the season.
The Cardinals, who have won six straight over the Friars, are currently on a 12-4 tear since winning a four-game set that began on July 27 against the Dodgers.
They’ve opened up a 4-1/2-game lead over Chicago in the NL Central and came into series after winning two of three against the Reds earlier in the week. The Redbirds showed no signs of slowing down with last night’s win over these Padres – their 7th straight over San Diego at Busch – while improving to 8-3 in their last 11 at home.
Lay the RUN LINE tonight!!!
Good Luck All!! :toast:

Did any of you play the doctors today ?
Good call calling bullshit on this guy. Expect a great record posted on their website tomorrow. Since nobody bought the plays they can bullshit the record. Unfortunately the scam goes deeper than just the doctors and deeper than just this one guy.LOL, unfortunately they played me! Don't touch these scammers! They don't deserve a dollar! Everytime nobody is talking about these guys, you have to bring them up. Why is that? Were you even in the group? I believe I asked you and never received a reply. So many shills around here. But from someone with only good intentions, DON'T give these jokers any of your hard earned money! Keep shilling tiz, and I will keep talking! Send a free month to that gmail account and I will stop! You guys owe it to us!
Yes I was in that group and in the hockey group for Coglye, not to mention I have contributed their plays alot by either paying for them myself or getting them from other forums. I have followed them for over a year and have only seen 2 bad months and 2 or 3 months where they broke about even. We praise cappers when they make us money and hate them when they don't. When COGLYE won like 15 or so straight O/U games in hockey we all praised how he was the greatest hockey capper out there. Last fall I remember how THE DOCTORS, SEABASS, BUDIN, and KELSO was "all we needed" every single request from just about every member on here. Does every capper posted today suck ? because looking back just about everyone had the LIONS as their TOP PLAY or how about yesterday ? If I recall everyone was on the Angels ... Despite having a couple bad months (which I'm sure everyone does or no one would have real jobs anymore) they are plus money. If you thought they were scammers and lose everyday then you would be fading them like there's no tomorrow. I get their plays several times a week. Plus I have purchased weekly packages as well. Their wins and loses are updated everyday and not once can I recall them lying regardless if they win or lose. Also I don't appreciate you calling me out the way you did. I have always had respect for you on this site and for a long time. I also believe I've split picks with you too. Anyways, hope you cashed today looks like everyone did pretty good baseball. good luck tomorrow
