Can't Post Marco's plays? What about Win or Lose Sports Betting or Black Cobra? These three have made me a lot of money this year.

TEDDY COVERS

GAME: Toronto Blue Jays @ Oakland Athletics Aug 16, 2010 10:05PM
SPORT: Major League Baseball Picks
PICK: under
Offered at: 7 SPORTSBETTING
REASON FOR PICK:
The Oakland A’s have been Under machines in recent weeks. Their light hitting lineup has been repeatedly stymied by opposing pitchers, but their own staff has been strong enough to keep them competitive in almost every game. Oakland has 12 Unders and one push in their 13 August ballgames, with all thirteen games producing a combined total of eight runs or less.

There’s absolutely no reason to expect any sort of dramatic change today – this matchup looks very much like another pitcher’s duel. Oakland’s Brett Anderson has gotten better and better in each of his first three starts since coming off the DL. Anderson threw seven innings of five hit, one run ball against Seattle in his last start. He’s yet to allow a home run in nine previous starts this season, bad news for a Blue Jays lineup that has struggled against lefties all year and that relies heavily on the long ball for their offensive production.

Oakland can’t hit quality pitching, held to a grand total of eleven runs on their just concluded six game road trip. Shaun Marcum held the A’s to a single run in 6.1 innings of work when he faced them earlier this season. In his two previous starts against the A’s, Marcum held Oakland to a single run in seven full innings both times. Marcum got hit hard by the powerful Yankees and Red Sox lineups in his last two starts, primed for a bounceback effort here against a lineup he should dominate. 2* Take the Under.

Houston Astros (Rodriguez) - over New York Mets (Niese) 7:05 PM CT

Jonathon Niese has put together a nice season but the Mets have been losers in six of his last seven starts. Niese owns a sound ERA in that stretch but he has been susceptible to allowing too many walks and for the year he owns a much worse numbers on the road. New York’s bullpen is in a bit of disarray at the moment and the Mets enter this game coming off long travel to Houston following the Sunday night game at home, a very tough 3-1 loss to Philadelphia.Houston has a poor overall record for the season but since late July, when the Astros shipped off a couple of malcontent stars, Houston is 11-6. The Astros have terrible scoring numbers for the season but in the last 17 games Houston has not been held below two runs and only held below four runs four times. For the season Houston 17-13 against left-handed starters compared with going 34-52 against right-handers and the current lineup is hitting .321 against southpaws in the last ten games, compared with a .180 team average for the Mets in those match-ups. While both teams are 4-6 in the last ten games the Mets have scored a grand total of 23 runs in that span. Scoring will be difficult against Wandy Rodriguez tonight as the veteran is putting together an excellent second half of the season. In his last nine starts Rodriguez has held his opposition to one or fewer earned runs allowed seven times while pitching at least six innings in each of his last nine starts. Rodriguez owns a 5.36:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in that span and the Astros are 6-3. For the season Rodriguez owns a 3.00 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP in Houston. The Astros are 9-2 in the last eleven home games as this is a much different team than the club that had a horrendous April to dig a huge hole in the standings. The Mets have been awful road performers all season long including going 7-19 in the last 26 road games and 22-37 overall for the season away from home. New York is batting just .240 as a team away from home and Niese will have very little support to work with if Rodriguez pitches as well as he has been throwing. Look for Houston to keep its run of strong play at home going with a win in this match-up against the slumping Mets who needed a better result in the last series to keep hope of a postseason run alive.

Los Angeles Dodgers (60-58) at Atlanta Braves (68-49)
(R) Chad Billingsley (9-7) vs. (R) Tommy Hanson (8-8)

The Dodgers have dropped six of their last 10 games overall, including Atlanta's 13-1 pounding on Sunday. Los Angeles is a dreadful 3-13 in their last 16 road games, just 24-34 on the road this season. The Braves are 4-1 in their last 5 games, 4-1 in its last 5 at home and are major-league-best at home, 41-16 this season.

Los Angeles' right-hander Chad Billingsley (9-7, 3.78 ERA), is 0-2 with a 2.41 ERA in his last three starts and is 1-3 with a 3.82 ERA in five career starts against the Braves. The Dodgers are 1-4 in Billingsley's last five starts against Atlanta.

Atlanta's right-hander Tommy Hanson (8-8, 3.51 ERA), is 0-1 with a 0.84 ERA in his last three starts and is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in two career starts against the Dodgers. The Braves are 1-4 in Hanson's last 5 home starts.

Go with the Braves at home against the struggling Dodgers. Los Angeles has lost in seven of their last 10 contests versus Atlanta at Turner Field.
