•Blue Jays LH Mark Buehrle (10-6, 2.86 ERA, WHIP: 1.300) - Buehrle began the season 10-1 in his first 12 outings and has since gone winless in his last eight turns. Poor run support can be blamed for some of that but the offense actually bailed out the veteran when he allowed five runs in six innings on Sunday and ended up without a decision. Buehrle is 0-1 in two starts against New York this season, yielding a total of seven runs in 12 2/3 innings.
--KEY STAT: BUEHRLE is 11-3 (+8.1 Units) against the money line versus poor power teams - averaging 0.9 or less HR's/game this season. (Team's Record)
The average score was BUEHRLE 6.1, OPPONENT 3.8.

•Yankees RH Hiroki Kuroda (6-6, 3.88 ERA, WHIP: 1.187) - Kuroda is the last man left standing from the Yankees’ opening day rotation and is coming off back-to-back quality starts. The Japan native surrendered an unearned run on three hits in 6 2/3 innings against Cincinnati on Sunday but was held out of the decision in a game New York went on to win 3-2. Kuroda picked up a win at Toronto on June 25, allowing three runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 frames.
--KEY STAT: KURODA is 13-23 (-13.0 Units) against the money line in night games over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)

•Red Sox LH Jon Lester (10-7, 2.50 ERA, WHIP: 1.117) - Lester and Boston management can’t seem to get on the same page during contract negotiations but it has yet to effect him on the field. The free agent-to-be has allowed a total of five earned runs in his last seven starts and struck out eight over eight scoreless innings to earn a win over Kansas City on Sunday. Lester dominated Tampa Bay in the latest matchup on June 1, fanning 12 in seven scoreless frames.

The average score was LESTER 5.1, OPPONENT 3.3.
--LESTER is 19-7 UNDER (+11.0 Units) versus an American League team with an on base percentage .330 or worse in the second half of the season over the last 3 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was LESTER 4.1, OPPONENT 4.0.
•Rays LH David Price (10-7, 3.06 ERA, WHIP: 1.041) - Price has been just as effective of late and has won his last five starts, including eight scoreless innings in each of the last two. The one blemish on Price’s season line is 19 home runs allowed, though he managed to keep his last two opponents in the park. The former Cy Young winner went seven innings in that controversial start at Boston on May 30, allowing a pair of runs without factoring in the decision.

Signed to a minor-league contract on July 11, Williams made 26 appearances out of the bullpen for the Astros while going 0-1 with a 6.10 ERA in two starts for the Express. The 32-year-old owns a 4-5 career mark with a 4.19 ERA in 16 career appearances (nine starts) against the Athletics.
#921 CHI WHITE SOX @ #922 MINNESOTA - 8:10 PM
•White Sox LH John Danks (8-6, 4.35 ERA, WHIP: 1.419) - Danks has won five of his last six decisions but is coming off a rocky no-decision Sunday against Houston, which got to him for seven runs and a season-high 12 hits in 4 1/3 innings. That was his worst start since he gave up six runs on 10 hits and four walks in just five innings at Minnesota on June 22. That broke a string of seven straight starts in which the veteran had lasted at least six innings, a span that saw him post a solid 2.30 ERA. Included in that stretch was a solid outing against the White Sox on June 21, when Correia let up one earned run in six innings to improve to 3-2 with a 2.93 mark in his career versus Chicago.

The 29-year-old lasted only 4 1/3 innings at Detroit on Sunday, yielding four runs and six hits en route to his second straight loss.
