4-Unit Play. Take #652. Take New York Liberty -2 over the Atlanta Dream (Friday @ 7:30pm est)
This is a revenge game for New York. They faced the Dream earlier this year at home and fell short in a tight ballgame by a score of 77-86 although the game was closer than what the score indicates. New York has shown a lot of gusto of late as they went on the road to defeat a very good Chicago Sky team by 15 points - the same Chicago team that beat Atlanta on the road. New York also comes home after a tough road trip and will look to do well at home today in front of their faithful fans in a fairly packed out crowd on Friday night. Remember, this team just came back from a four game road trip so obviously they will be excited to be back home and play in front of their fans. I expect the Dream to do well today as they always do, but I think New York is coming around slowly and with a win today, they will move to .500 and revenge does play a great deal into the nba or wnba for that matter. The Liberty are 3-0-1 ATS when playing on two days rest
4-Unit Play. Take #910. Take Over 6.5 Seattle Mariners vs. San Diego Padres (Friday @ 10:05pm est)
There is just a great deal of value here. These two teams met earlier this year with totals of 6.5, 8 and 7 and two of those games went over the posted total. Note that given how both of these pitchers have been pitching of lately, this is a high total. Vargas has been pitching well all season long but certainly in games he has been involved with, the total has gone over the last four times as compared to the 6.5 total. Correia comes off one of his worst starts of the year as he gave up four runs in less than two innings against the Phillies on the road and six runs in as many innings to the Mets. These two teams are a bit familiar with each other considering their series earlier in the year and although San Diego is an under team, in interleague play thus far, they have been an over team. Basically, we are challenging both pitchers to pitch lights out today for this game to go under the posted total which will be difficult to do -albeit still possible. Nevertheless, the Over is 2-0-2 when Vargas faces a team with a winning record and the over is 4-1 when Correia starts with a total of 6.5.
