Los Angeles Lakers at Phoenix Suns – Friday at 9:00 p.m. ET
Los Angeles (47-18, 27-36-2 ATS) got back on track Tuesday with a 109-107 victory over the Toronto Raptors. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Lakers. They’ve been even uglier at the sportsbook; L.A. has gone a pitiful 2-7-1 against the spread in its last 10 games. Playing on the road certainly isn’t going to help matters, either—the Lakers have won just once on NBA odds in their past five games away from home.
Although the Suns (40-25, 37-27-1 ATS) are 8-2 in their past 10 games, both losses came in their last five outings. Still, Phoenix beat Indiana in its last game, a 113-105 victory last Saturday. Phoenix has lost two straight games against NBA odds but has been generally dominant over the past month or so; the team is 14-4 against the spread in its last 18 games, including a recent eight-game winning streak. And although Phoenix has failed to cover two straight at home, the Suns are a very respectful 5-2 in their last seven games at US Airways Center.
Phoenix and L.A. have already met three times this season; the Lakers are 2-1 SU and ATS, though the Suns won the last outing 118-103. Lately, when it comes to the spread, Phoenix has been king of the hill.
