Nick "BookieKiller" Parsons
Washington/Golden State 219
For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this game is on the "under":
This is the second time this season that Washington enters this game having lost six in a row, but its current skid has been much more frustrating. The Wizards have lost each of their games by four points or less, including a 112-109 defeat at Sacramento on Wednesday night.
Where there was once optimism about this season, this is no longer the case. Picked by one national publication to win the Southeast Division, the Wizards are on pace to win just 26 games. To reach 50 wins, the Wizards would have to go 43-17 the rest of the season, a clip the franchise has probably never played at in team history.
Keep in mind that the total has gone "under" the posted number in nine of Washington's last twelve on the road overall.
On the other side of the court: The Warriors lost 103-91 to San Antonio on Wednesday night and had nine players in uniform, one more than the league minimum. The Warriors have lost four straight and eight of nine.
Golden State was also without its head-coach for a few games, and despite Nelson’s return, Golden State was out of sync offensively, scoring fewer than 96 points for the fourth time in six games.
Remember, the total has gone "under" the posted number in five of Golden State's last six overall.
Bottom line: When taking into account the troubles both teams are having right now and these strong O/U trends, the sharp money in this one is on the UNDER!
9* UNDER.
