Dallas has just three true losses in their first 15 games and sit at 6-3-6 for the season. Vancouver is not playing on the road as they did a year ago, coming into this one at just 3-5. That road mark is something the Stars have made quick work of as they have been 74-32-7 when they face a team with a road record of .400 or worse over their last 113! Dallas has never been a place for the Canucks to get healthy either as they are just 4-9 in their last 13 visits in Big D. This has also been a favorite-laden series with the favorite claiming the cash in each of their last four. There are a lot of indicators pointing to a Dallas win here, and a long term trend of nearly 70% is much better than the price offered here. Dallas gets the call.

Washington –1 over INDIANA

The Pacers finally got off the mattress with a win in New York but had they been playing any other team that night they likely would’ve been buried. The Knicks scored just 33 points in the second half and at one point in the fourth quarter they were 2-14 from the field. The Pacers are a sloppy, uninspiring group that is going to have to rely on a lot of things going their way to win games. If you like watching turnovers, watch the Pacers. The Wizards are coming off a close loss at home to Miami but they trailed 24-6 and came a long way back to tie it late in the fourth. Despite losing in Cleveland the previous game, Washington still built a 20-point lead and these are all good signs that instill confidence. The Wizards are simply the superior team here in a winnable game it says here they get it. Play: Washington –1 (Risking 2.08 units to win 2).


Oklahoma City +2.45 over HOUSTON

The Rockets are off to a very good start and there’s a lot to like about them, mainly Aaron Brooks and Trevor Ariza but they’re going to have a lot of off nights because of a lack of depth and a lack of experience. Ariza essentially replaces Artest and that’s a pretty tall task. The Okies are on the rise and it all starts with Kevin Durant, one of the best pure scorers in the game. He’s big, he’s smooth and he’s very dangerous. The highly touted Russell Westbrook arrived last year after just two seasons at UCLA and delivered. He has future star written all over him. Arizona State guard James Harden brings youth, energy and most of all talent to the Thunder franchise now joins Durant, Jeff Green and Westbrook. The Thunder are no longer pushovers and while they’ll have off nights too, they still have a great chance to win a lot more games, both at home and on the road. The Thunder are already playing terrific defense and in its only road game thus far they went into Detroit and beat the Pistons by eight. The price offered here is pretty damn sweet and I’ll be on the lookout for value like this all year long. Give the Okies a very good shot at pulling off the upset. Play: Oklahoma City +2.45 (Risking 2 units).

The Duke's Sports

LA Tech (+21) for 1.5 Units

Boise State/LA Tech 8:00: No question that Boise State is a legitimate power yet value lies with the home team. The Bulldogs are out to avenge last year's crushing 38-3 defeat and should be competitive in this spot; after all, they're 6-0 ATS as a home dog, 4-1 ATS as a home dog of 10+ and 6-1 ATS following a SU loss. We like Broncos' QB Ross Jenkins who manages the game well with limited mistakes. And we're hoping RB Porter and WR Livas, who were injured last week, can play up to their ability; had they not been questionable, we'd make this a stronger play. Tech has a seasoned offensive line that allow Jenkins to pass downfield and pave the way for Porter. And the Bulldogs' defense plays well at home. Boise has lost 4 of their last 5 ATS at Ruston and shouldn't have an easy time here.

Like the T Wolves here, especially in the frontcourt where they have contested the rim all season, and have only been out rebounded 1 time all year. Not sold on the Bucks young lineup and although Jennings is going to be special, not sure the consistent scoring across the board for Minny can be ignored. Bucks have lost both road games to date. Minny battle tested and came within 2 points of beating mighty Boston in here.

We are getting great value here with Leafs tonight when they visit the Canes. Despite only have one win on the season, this young Leafs team is playing good hockey as of late. They have earned points in 5 straight games, mainly against quality opponents. The same can't be said for the Canes as they have been outscored 19-4 in their last 4 games. This is simply a bad hockey team playing without it's best player in Eric Staal. Look for Toronto's hard work to finally pay off as they earn their second win of the season.

2 units Washington/Florida under 5.5(Even @ Bodog)

Without Ovechkin, Washington goes from a top 5 scoring team, to middle of the pack. Yes, that's how much of a factor he is to this team. Add that to a red-hot Thomas Vokoun, who is coming off back to back shutouts, and we have a recipe for an under. Florida, hasn't exactly been lighting the lamp up at home , only averaging a little above 2 goals a game. The under is the play here as I expect to see a close low scoring game.

This LA Tech team can hang with this BS team. Look how they did with one of SEC's best offensive teams, Auburn, At half time it was a close game before Auburn made some adjustments in the second half and won with ease. I have said it before and I will say it again, I like this La Tech team. I look for this to be a close game for a half and it could be close in the second half as well. Boise will be hoping not to shoot themselves in the foot as they control their BCS hopes. <O></O>

Toronto is lighting up the scoreboard right now on both the offensive and defensive ends. Their last 3 games have gone way over the total. The defensive side of the ball appears to be of no concern right now for the Raptors. New Orleans is playing more uptempo ball right now themselves, Chris Paul is playing like a man posessed. He is trying to make up for the lack of help by his teammates all by himself. They are standing around watching and unfortunately this has translated to lethargy on the defensive end also. Paul put up 39 last time out and vs the combo of Calderon and Rozan another 35+ pts isn't out of the question. Both teams should get into the 100's tonight which will probably send this game flying over the total at 215-220.

3.5 Dime Play Take NY Islanders ML Here we have the public hammering the NJ Devils around the 65% range. But guess what the line is moving in favor of the Islanders. If you have been following me then you know I love to go against the public when ever a situational play comes up. These two teams are very even in offensive statistics, but the Islanders have been playing great on the road this season and have not been able to capitalize with wins. They have lost 3 games on the road this year in either over time or shoot out fashion. The Devils haven't been that great at home this season, going 2-4 at home so far with one win coming against Carolina who is struggling to say the least. The Islanders are 4-3 ats on the road this season and 7-1 ats off one days rest. The Devils on the other had are 1-5 ats at home so far and 3-2 ats off one days rest. I like the Islanders to win tonight as they find a way to finish this one out.
