I'm not sure what the history is here Mountain, but I met Savage on a different site quite a few years ago and know that he has done extensive record keeping regarding Northcoast. I don't bother any more because I know Northcoast's MO, but don't see a need to get defensive about it. I was trying to make a point with a friend who can't seem to stop using their picks regardless of how well Northcoast does and actually charted their plays this year for the NFL Preseason only. I have no idea how well the service did in the regular season NFL (don't really care) but for anyone that does want to know, they can take the time and go through every Sunday's plays (assuming they are only looking at the late phone plays...I'm pretty sure they are on this site for every weekend). I do notice a certain blind loyalty to services (not just Northcoast) throughout the forum. It seems if a capper does well and falls off the wagon, people will continue to support him all the way to the poor house and get angry at anyone that claims the Emperor has no clothes. I couldn't care less about stuff like that. On the other hand, I just shake my head and tip my hat to Phil Steele for being such a master marketer. He's up there with the best of them in terms of longevity (even has a side gig with ESPN now). And I'm convinced it doesn't matter if hits sub 50% on his picks because he's got a following where if Phil says to jump, they simply ask "how high". The nice thing is everyone has their own money to do with as they please. If you like Northcoast, knock yourself out and play every pick they put out. After over 25 years of gambling and looking at forums like this one, I'm convinced that the majority of people are content with someone having a losing season as long as it's at least in the 45-50% range because they believe if they picked on their own, they'd do worse (even though you could flip a coin and in the long run hit 50%). Some of us gamble for recreation and some are degenerates, but I would suspect the hope is that maybe we'll get aboard with a handicapper on a streak to make some money to fuel a habit that will inevitably result in losses (do you really know anyone that has won long term doing this?). Ultimately, the question remains (and is never answered), if any of these cappers were as good as they say they are, why would they need to sell picks? They would just use their own picks and be retired on their own island in the Caribbean.

Well put bodyforlife and thanks for corroborating that I don't make this shit up about NC and have been doumenting their records amd deceptions for years.
If HBO ever does a followup special to the one they did about ten years exposing sports services and wanted to do a segment on Phil Steel/NC, not to brag, but imo I consider myself as good a source as ANYONE out there!!!!

That doesn't mean much without the units. And if you really get down to it, you could even look at the lines they post and ask if they're realistic based on the times they release their plays (in other words, were they available).

You should never comment on the behavior of anyone. Your disgraaceful run and hide routine after your disaster election predictions excludes you from everything.

Landslideeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Lmao. Where is BFL???

Also, GMR, which plays are those (i.e. late phones, marquee, newsletters, his private plays, etc). Do the NFL plays include only regular season or is it every NFL play they put out this football season (in other words, does it include the -23 units in preseason)?. Basically, it comes down to what do you grade them on. Clearly, they will only emphasize winners (which is pretty easy to do with the myriad of plays they put out).

As an example of NC's ineptitude for this season and of course which was NEVER mentioned/talked about by them, is that their"famed" Monday night side and totals plays did not sweep theaza board once since the end of Septembr this season.
I had them at 10-22 for the season with two weeks with only on piece given out.
Their motto is and has alway been that they tell us about all of the losers as well as the winners unlike those other services out there-yeah right.
They tell us the losers ONLY if they can't weasel their way out of it.
I believe Phil Steele in his book The Art of Scamdicapping may have a chapter on this. lol

Imo the chances of that being true are the same as a bear NOT defecating in the woods.
Who do you think gathers all of the endless data for PowerSweep and those longwinded writeups?
Why does Phil admit that he still spends 100 hour work weeks during the negular season studying football?

He provides the newletter data but in an agreement when he sold the name to current group of clowns...they decide what games get released as late phone plays and such. Phil is basically an advisor type role with northcoast sports. He gets a piece of sales but low end.

I was told this by someone close to these guys. Phil needs to tread lightly around the gambling aspects because of his espn and college awards associations. So while he still provides much of the data that determine the "picks"...he does not decide what late phone plays are released. Phil was very speciific in his partial sell agreement on certain things. That being said...they are all morons and should be used for fades rather than follows...or just ignore completely and pick your own games. Better off

I agree with some of this especially the part re: the committees-I was actually one of the first to post this when he allegedly tried to distance himself from NC by taking his name out entirely in PowerSweep, PowerPlays and anything related to NC several years back.
Although I have believed right along that he still had/has a say with the picks especially the big ones, I am beginning to thing I may be wrong because they have been so awful.
Brandon especially who does comp. line for the most part for football(occasionaly Ralphy fills in)strikes me as someone not very bright or competent, and the lying douchebag even admitted that it was he who changed the NFL GOY at the last minute to LOSER Detroit from New England which would hav been a winner simply because the line moved a liittle-I seriously doubt that Phil Steele would have pulled a stunt like that.
ps Do you still talk to husker, and if so, how is he doing?

I don't. Although never sure. A lot of these guys change their names.

Phil does not decide on what gets released as their late phone plays anymore. That I'm sure of. Really don't wanna use actual names of the people who told me but phils sale or partial sale invloved a contract, attorney's and all kinds of things. Kind of a weird deal but phil is basically in an advisory role just so he can collect some money off sales.

It's good to see someone bring facts into a discussion as opposed to inaccurate facts made up to meet a narrative.

.

My facts in the other forum say it all about NC and just about everyone agrees with me.
No disrespect to vitterd but right after Phil delegated someone else to do the comp.line and he took his name off of anything to do with NC a few years back, a very knowlegeable source told me that Steele still had the final say in the picks and actually had a hand in makin them.
That may have changed of late, but unless someone can identify the source and how he knows, it is hearsay and the same for my source,
In short, one can choose to believe who he wishes!
Most importantly Phl Steele, his henchmen and NC are habitual liars by omission, con artists an just totally despicable!
ps It is much more likely that someone could sue NC for their lies and misrepresentatons than Steele/NC could for slander thats for sure.

I'm not looking for an argument. And I'm not gonna name anyone because he is actually one of phils attorney who told me. I happened to meet him regarding something totally unrelated to this...just kinda came up. I'm not sure of dates and times and when it changed but I'm pretty confident in the info I was given. Either way it makes no difference to me what phil, northcoast or any of those nitwits do or say. Lol
