Of course, when things get twitchy, everyone knows a blue water navy makes a big difference

No different from 500 years ago

The more things change, the more they stay the same

Climate change deniers seem to have given up as far as conceding that humans are causing th earth to warm.. now they have moved onto making the arguement it’s good for us..

big picture idiots! All the other species on this planet (many of which we need for our survival) can’t quickly adapt to the rapidly changing climate like we can .. especially when u toss in deforestation pollution etc..

the status quo baby boomers piss me off so much..

February 07, 2018 - 01:19 PM ESTEPA administrator questions 'assumptions' that global warming is bad

BY LUIS SANCHEZTWEET SHARE EMAILThe head of the Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday questioned whether global warming is harmful to humans and suggested warm climate could be beneficial.
"We know that humans have most flourished during times of, what? Warming trends. So I think there's assumptions made that because the climate is warming, that that necessarily is a bad thing," Administrator Scott Pruitt told KSNV News 3 Las Vegas, disputing whether climate change is an "existential threat."
"Do we really know what the ideal surface temperature should be in the year 2100 in the year 2018?" he continued. "I mean, that's somewhat fairly arrogant, for us to think that we know exactly what it should be in 2100."
Pruitt has been skeptical previously about whether human activity is the primary cause of global warming. Last summer, he raised the idea of funding a debate over whether humans are the main contributors to rising temperatures.

But he seemed to acknowledge that humans contribute to climate change on Tuesday.
"No one disputes the climate changes, is changing, and we see that is a constant. We obviously contribute to it," Pruitt said. "We live in the climate, right. So our activity contributes to the climate changing, to a certain degree."

Pruitt's comments contradict the general scientific consensus that humans are the main contributors to the planet's rising temperatures due to the greenhouse effect.
"There are very important questions around the climate issue that folks really don't get to," Pruitt said. "And that's one of the reasons I've talked about having an honest, open, transparent debate about what do we know, what don't we know, so the American people can be informed and they can make decisions on their own with respect to these issues."
He added that as head of the EPA he has to balance the issue of what the science says with what "authority" the agency has to implement related regulations.

Looking like the end..

initial vix spike flush after an extremely creepy period with zero volatility... than a few days dead catting.. and now a bear grind day lower...

the way of the world now that we are a fiat economy that has very little savings and depends on debt expansion to fuel unsustainable growth.. the days of slow steady organic sustainable growth are long gone..

boom/bust cycles indefinitely..

and they are tough to time cause it’s hard to tell at one point everybody taps out and the violent sell off that feeds on itself begins..

time to crawl back on my cave..

We’ve had tons of corrections like this over the years. I don’t think you can take much from a 10% correction after a 300+% runup.

And people are sitting on so much profit that fear will likely take longer to creep into the market. Easier to want to weather the storm psychologically with highs like this.

Probably take negative economic news for real capitulation to start. Obviously once it starts who knows where it ends with all the bad investment built into the system though.

See the budget deal? Doubt it passes the House but more of the same.

go to hussman.net and read his weekly commentary..for the gory details of how ridiculously overvalued (not PE other metrics) things are now on a historical basis

like me he was wayyyyyyy early in his top call.. but it’s a bubble plain and simple and will fall hard when everything unravels.. just like 2000 and 2007.. expect 50% haircut or worse from the top.... have a hard time seeing how this isn’t the top of it but ya never know..

Yeah, I read him regularly, just think it’ll chop for awhile. A real popping of the bubble would mean a 30-40% correction from here if economic conditions began to deteriorate. Just don’t think we’re there yet.

You still have a lot of cash on the sidelines that are gonna buy these dips. I just think you need a catalyst for SHTF like Lehman and don’t see it yet.

Be interesting to see what govt would do from here. Probably stimulus in the form of infrastructure and perhaps more QE.

Who knows.. they already used up the tax cut ammo already (big reason this bubble blew up bigger than I expected) so that’s no longer there to brace the fall once this unsustainable debt cycle unravels..

all thats left is rates back to zero and qe... we turning Japanese as I’ve said for years..

and yeah same ol shit from our one party system of big governement.. liberals at least do what they stand for.. GOP when in power spend, debt, and expand deficits like liberals.. when not in power complain about spending, deficits, debt and block budgets as much as power ... GOP terrible hypocrites.. so much for draining the swamp..

When both parties are happy, they're usually looting the Treasury. And that's what this bill does.

Yeah no one cares anymore, the tea party moment has passed. Nothing more than a relic of the early Obama years. Mostly had to do with having a lightning rod on the other side who wanted to do the big spending.

Keynesian economics alive and well.

It goes beyond economics..one party system of poking our nose everywhere Around the globe empire building a big part of it too..

Ron started it.. than slowly got hijacked by establishment types... and end result of “anti establishment” movement was trump...complete kneeslapper just no way to defeat “them” the status quo or whatever you want to call it.. i used have naive hope back in the Ron Paul days .. but now it’s clearly hopeless.. either nobody cares or those that do too brainwashed by mass media and social media to understand what’s going on..

history will be kind to ron and rand but not for a long time.. as the us empire crumbles and decays from within.. its a slow process..like waiting for obvious economic bubbles to burst .. but one that’s easy to see if you are critically paying attention..

I watched like 5 minutes of it and thought it was painful. Like he was going through the motions to keep up appearances for the role he has.

Almost like an actor who knows he isn't gonna get the part but still trying to give the best audition he can. Nothing like the energy he had when Obama was prez, think he just knows it is a wrap.

Not really it’s important so more people nationwide are aware at this moment the GOP with control of the presidency, senate, and the house..are about to approve trillion dollar deficits.. the hypocracy need me to be document and spread as much as possible.. he’s making headlines on the major news networks..

It is a crystal clear moment where the GOPs hypocracy is clear as day and needs to be broadcast as much as possible..

Articles from cnn to foxnews saying he’s correct that republicans are complete hypocrites ..

I know its a hopeless cause.. it will pass.. it will be forgotten. And one party system will continue down its suicidal path of destruction.. but at least somebody called it out.. rather than the old days where the one party system (that pretends to be two parties) just rams this shit through with nobody paying attention..

Remember this moment

with the economy in a clear bubble and at full employment.. congress with “conservative” control of presidency, senate, and house passes a budget with a trillion dollar deficit.

clear sign of how truly fucked we are.. Rand only one that even bothered to point it out..

S&p went boing once it got down to the 200 dma that it hasn’t sniffed for over a year now at around 2500.. looks near term oversold so may have more rally in it from here.. back to 2700 or so (50 dma) looks like a good target.. the large volitility still tells me this the end just will be a very choppy ride as it always is..
