life is great dude!!

There is a certain amount of valuable entertainment around here once market starts getting hit with a few scuds.

They just keep it afloat no matter how many bunker busting bombs make contact. It would be nice to see a Nagasaki/Hiroshima type knock out blow to happen so we could finally buy general market on the cheap.

Nice avatar hellah.

Tiz, battery-powered even, just for you (or your gal, lol) Since I do have some electrician background, I'll be happy to send you some new outlets too (they're cheaper and made in the US)

;)

it gets boring sometimes when market gets too quiet. I was away two weeks and only a few pages to read catching up.

we get another big down day this week we should see some new blood hoping in here.

peak "cheap" oil IMO

the easy to tap shit is beyond us

tiz I agree with alot of what you are saying....and your facts on the oil sands are spot on

however, there is a very large "unknown" factor to the sector

I have owned several canadian oil sand trust co's ....including SU, for years. I listen to the confernce calls, read what real experts on the field say. My broker in fact one of the 20 most knowledgable men on the subject. Dude writes book on it.

without getting into a 20 paragraph post on the tar sands, there are a number of reasons why they will not even come close to supplying the worlds need for oil....not to mention the Canadian Govt's recent money grab set that whole industry back 3 years. Have you looked at a 1 year chart of those trust companies?

Doing my nightly chart work with a buzz tonight, holy shit....look at boeing and federal express! I do own a small position of fdx shares in my ira acct.

Really nosediving.

However the funniest charts to look at are blackstone BX and fortress group FIG.

Both ipo last year when the whole world wouldnt stop talking how great private equity managers were masters of the universe.

70% haircut already at fig and 50% for bx.

same for searsholdings shld...lampert was a master of universe, but his company is down 50% from a year ago. too leveraged with real estate and made a huge citigroup bet thats been a real flop thus far. side note it still is up alot since going public a few years ago and my money would bet he will eventually recover but no bet on table for me.

well i agree they won't supply the world's needs if the world economy continues to grow at these elevated prices

but just don't see it happening

i predict a nasty global recession is in store and demand will shrink
