Perhaps I don't especially like the the state of Connecticut ? I grew up in CT, born here in 1963, graduated HS in 1982, by about 1979 or so, I decided I wanted out of CT.... researched it a bit, San Francisco area was the 1st inclination, changed that to San Diego, actually targeted Oceanside,Ca, wound up first in Vista,Ca.... 20 miles away.

I could have stayed anywhere along the way, Flagstaff, Arizona .tempted me to stay.

Ct is a place ,I'm sick of being at. I'd move to NC or Texas, or Arkansas, etc, without a second thought, wife wouldn't. I'd move to a country with a different language like CR, or Panama, no problemo !

Why not nearby Toronto, Canada? Pinnacle, Brit books accessible.

If it's going to be amicable, you can both file at the same time and file the judgement immediately. Pay your filing fees and wait for the Judge to sign the judgement.

Sure, I'd move to Canada... if I could get citizenship. I don't think that is exactly easily done, I have no felony convictions, I'd prefer Vancouver (BC), over Toronto, I prefer a warmer climate than Canada, but I'd move there in a flash.

I'd re-learn the French, I forgot in high school, and become fluent, if I could live in Montreal.

Why not easily for a US citizen? We are very good neighbours with the states.

I'm in Vancouver...it's a world of difference from Toronto, in that the
former seldom experiences any snow, though lots of rain, while in TO
you can expect several months of sub zero freezing temperatures.
Have lived in both, & personally prefer the West.

I can empathize doug. My wife and I met in VA where I grew up(country). She moved to Atlanta when we were dating so I followed like a dummy. She's Japanese. She won't move back anywhere near my family and friends and everytime I bring it up she says "lets move to Japan." I've been here 10 years in isolation with only my immediate family. I would divorce too, but I've invested so much time into my marriage it's hard to give it up, so I just give in. Now I have other issues like not gettin enough poo nanny. Somethings gotta give.

If there no kids involved it's easier to just bolt let her have whatever you can't snatch and grab.

I remember vacationing in Mexico and partying with this guy Bud the stud.

Was living in Mexico in exile selling time shares avoiding back child support.

Don't be that guy.

Doug, sorry to hear this .. Been there my friend, it's not easy.

But you are better off , not a good thing when things are not going right in a Marriage.
I hear all the time about marriages that are still going when things are bad.
They stay there because of Kids or it's the right thing to do.
BS !!

It was 12 years ago this month, that I left my First wife because things weren't going the way I thought it would.
My mind wasn't right, couldn't think Str8. The fighting, the yelling, all the BS.
Not worth it Bro !

BOL !

I don't remeber exactly, I think the evil date was 07/09/02..... it was after 9-11, a year after

Being married is the most awful thing imaginable.

Is this the result of uncareful planning and two people getting married too soon? Or did things just deteriorate after marriage...things that couldn't be foreseen? Never been married myself, so just curious
