Let me just say that as of right now I've been married for 11 years. Got married right out of college. As of right now I love every moment of it and never see it ending.
I grew up in a household with a mother and father that loved each other beyond belief. They were inseparable and I think that had an impact on me.
In high school and college I had slept with over 20 women and done other shit with another 20. When I met her I knew I never wanted to sleep with another woman. I knew that she was the one.
In the past month I got extremely lucky and got offered a high level assistant GM position for a pro-franchise (Would love to say but we all know that's not possible haha). It's across the country from where I'm presently located and she is a doctor at a local hospital. She worked her way to that position and loves what she does. She loves working with children. I was so nervous to tell her about this because we have two kids.
When I told her she was so happy and just wanted to talk to the kids about it. It has been my dream to get this type of position. We are moving in the next 6 months whether she has a job or not and she is completely for it.
This is a happy marriage. When one understands the other and will sacrifice something for the other.
Marriage isn't for everyone and I can understand that, but I feel that true happiness can not be attained by whoring around. I was happy when I was a kid but nothing like this. My children and wife get me through my day, well they used to when I was grinding at a low level position, and helped me strive for my goal which I just attained.
I feel that you need to live with someone and be around them for at least 2 years before getting married. Take them to meet your little cousins or see how they interact with children and you'll know how they will act with your children.
The most important part of a marriage isn't just how you and her get along, but how she is going to get along with your family and children. Sorry about the rant but I have had this discussion with my best friend who had a career in professional sports for 10 years while whoring around and has just settled down finally and said he couldn't be happier.
