Mack, one thing for damn sure is Mississippi State "feed" their quarterback up in Starkville.

(230, 232, 250, 230) Now if they can coach one or two of them up for the coming season.

If they can't play QB, Mullen can move them to linebacker.

Ole Miss

The Nations No. 6 rated defensive end has committed to Ole Miss. Bryan Jones
(6-5, 240) out of Madison Prep Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana was among
the most sought after prospects at his position in the country. Jones had offers
from 33 schools. Look for LSU to try and flip him.

Texas A&M

Kevin Sumlin has offered a scholarship to Kentucky quarterback commit after
losing pledge from 5-star Tate Martell. Mac Jones committed to Kentucky last
July, but has since gained a ton of interest from other schools. Jones is the
Wildcats biggest gems in a 2017 class that currently ranks in the nation's top-10
recruiting classes.

Tennessee

Three star safety Jaguan Henderson received a scholarship offer from Butch Jones
after he de-committed from UCLA. Henderson is rated the No. 30 safety in the
class of 2017 and the No. 41 player in Georgia. Tennessee is also pursuing
Henderson's teammate in 4-star wide receiver Jeremiah Holleman.

Alabama - Nice Bettors Situation

Play against Alabama, last year's college football national champions when the
Tide is off a straight up and against the spread win if they are facing a non-
conference opponent. National Champions are 22-49 losers in this role since
1980. That's a 69% winning proposition. Alabama was NC in 2012 and 2013
and failed all three times in this role.

Last year, Ohio State (NC) beat Virginia Tech SU and ATS then did not cover against
Hawaii the following week going 0-1 in this situation.

Bret Bielema wants undrafted underclassman to be able to return to school. I think it's a good idea, if they don't deal w/ an agent. Why not? 30 kids who came out early didn't get drafted this year.

http://coachingsearch.com/article?a...w-undrafted-underclassmen-to-return-to-school

In college hockey and college baseball, drafted players can choose to go (or return) to college. Why not let undrafted football underclassmen return? It’s something Bret Bielema is looking into.

Arkansas offensive guard Denver Kirkland went undrafted this year, one of 30 underclassmen who left early and didn’t get drafted. Bielema said on SportsTalk with Bo Mattingly that he’s reaching out to coaches of undrafted underclassmen to get some other opinions on the issue.

“I haven’t touched base with Gus (Malzahn) yet, but he had two that didn’t get drafted. Dan (Mullen) did as well. Ohio State had a couple,” Bielema said. “Those coaches, I’m reaching out to them and trying to put together some collective thoughts on how to approach it. Now, some kids maybe had to move on for academic reasons or personal or their own story. But if you have a guy like Denver who’s on progression to graduate, is doing the right things and needs another year (can we change something?)"

Maybe it could even apply to drafted players.

“Alex (Collins) could be in the same category. I’m glad he got taken, but I know he was planning on the third or second round (instead of the fifth). That’s millions. Remember Darius Philon? He goes in the middle of the sixth round (last year). If he came back and played for us last year, he probably would have been a second-rounder and possibly a first-rounder, the way those D-tackles were going off the board. He’s probably lost, between last year’s draft and this year’s draft, somewhere between $10-14 million that he will never, ever see again. It’s insane.”

Basketball has pushed back its withdrawal date to after the NBA Combine and allows players to declare but not hire an agent. It allows players to have a better gauge of their stock before a final decision. It's worth noting baseball and hockey have minor leagues and bigger drafts, but should football change its process?

Dan Mullen spoke out last week about football players getting bad advice and being sold a dream, instead of maximizing their chance for success. Not every undrafted underclassman needed to return, as Bielema noted, but it’s a battle they have to deal with.

“There’s a whole mindset now of starting your first contract now so you can get to the second contract,” Bielema said. “They’ve got to play four years of injury-free football in the NFL before that. Most guys don’t make their second contract, but they all live on a hope and a prayer. I don’t have a card invested except their well-being. Now, if Denver and Alex were coming back, we’d probably be rated as one of the better teams in the SEC. Hunter (Henry) was hoping to be a first, but still was a second. Two or three guys could change a season.”

Florida

In the modern era of the NFL draft - since 1967 - Florida leads the SEC with 48 first round
picks. Two more Gators went in the first round this year (CB Vernon Hargreaves No. 11 and
safety Keanu Neal at No. 17), making it four drafts in a row and nine of the past ten that UF
has had a first rounder. Florida should add to that total next year, thanks to its defense. You
could make the case for five defenders being possible first round picks. Three seem legitimate
possibilities. And as surprising as this may sound, Florida could have an offensive player end
up in the first round. Strong case for first round: CB Jalen Taylor, LB Jarrad Davis, DT Caleb
Brantley. Possible case for first round: SS Marcus, CB Quncy Wilson, OT David Sharp. By the
way, Sharp is 6-6, 348 pounds left tackle.

*Don't sleep on the Gators. They could easily repeat as SEC East Division champs again!

CL, there's some talent on the D....but I'm taking a wait and see approach on the O. If the OL plays well then the QB could have a solid year (Del Rio). But until we see what they do, I'm not holding my breath.

Sixth Game Blues

The Vanderbilt Commodores are 0-15 straight up and 2-13 against the spread in
Game Six of the season the last 15 years. Last season they lost 19-10 SU & ATS
to South Carolina. Game 6 this year is against Kentucky on October 8. Might
want to give this game a look come October 8 weekend.

Nick Saban has dismissed 4-star offensive tackle Charles Baldwin, the No. 2 overall
JUCO prospect in his class for violation of unspecified team rules. Baldwin (6-5, 315)
enrolled in January and participated in the team's spring drills and was expected to
step in and compete for the starting right tackle position. He was somewhat disappoint-
ing and entered the offseason as a reserve. Baldwin chose Bama over Georgia, Ole
Miss, Oklahoma and Michigan State.

Sidenote: True freshman Jonah Williams, a 5-star prospect received most of the first
team reps during spring practice and is expected to be the starter opening day.

OK....now coach if I had offered you a bet of say 9-5 that Florida would have won the SEC East last year
how much would you have lost. The D will be stout and Mac knows how to coach offense.

Ole Miss

The Ole Miss Rebels may just have the most difficult schedule in the Southeast Conference.
The Rebs defiantly have the toughest stretch of games in the league. During the stretch of
September 5-24, Ole Miss faces Florida State, Wofford, Alabama and Georgia.

*Ole Miss has only played Florida State one time winning 33-0 in 1963.
*No team has ever defeated Saban coached teams three consecutive times as long as Saban
has been in the SEC. The Rebs will be going for three in a row.
*Going back to 1997, Georgia has won ten straight games against Ole Miss.

No. 1 JUCO Recruit

Elliot Baker, an offensive tackle at City College of San Francisco is set to visit Alabama
June 5-8 and then Auburn June 9-11. The big 6-7, 308 pound Baker is ranked as the
nation's No. 1 junior college prospect. He has narrowed his top-5 schools down to Bama,
Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State and Arizona State.

Nick Saban confirmed a long rumored hire when he recently announced the addition
of NFL veteran coach Karl Dunbar as the new defensive line coach. Dunbar is a well
respected coach with a long history of producing quality defensive lines in the NFL
having coached in the league 11 of the past 12 years. Dunbar last coached in college
in 2005, when he was the defensive line coach at LSU, his alma mater. Dunbar has
a history with Saban. He was a strength and conditioning coach at LSU from 2000-2001
when Saban was the head coach. The hiring ends more than two weeks of speculation
surrounding Dunbar when emerged as a candidate. Before working in Buffalo last season,
Dunbar spent the previous three seasons (2012-2014) as the New York Jets defensive
line coach and held the same position with the Minnesota Vikings (2006-2011) and
Chicago Bears (2004).

Why did Dunbar get run out of Buffalo?

Questioned that myself Coach....I don't really know why he was fired by the Bills.

One thing I do know...it didn't bother Saban.

Georgia

The Bulldogs will start the season in Atlanta against North Carolina with a razor thin and
inexperienced defensive front. With the losses of four seniors including all three starters
from a year ago and the suspensions of both DE Jonathan Ledbetter and DE Chauncey
Rivers for the season opener due to various infractions. Incoming freshmen could see
playing time. Because of the many questions on defense, I predict Kirby Smart's era at
Georgia will get off to a rough start. I like North Carolina +4/4.5 to win this one straight
up.

Sidenote: Georgia leads the series 14-12-2 dating back to the early 1900s.

Auburn

The Tigers enter this season with five new assistant coaches. Joining the staff for 2016
is defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, DB coach Wesley McGriff, OL coach Herb Hand, WR
coach Kodi Burns and LB coach Travis Williams. Steele, who was at LSU last year signed
a three year contract at $1.1 million per season. The other new coaches are on two year
deals. McGriff comes from the New Orleans Saints and will earn $500,000 per season.
Hand, was at Penn State last year and will be paid $840,000 for his two year contract. Burns
a former player at Auburn signed on for $350,000 per year. Williams, another Auburn former
player will be paid $225,000 each year. Each assistant will also receive $16,250 car allowance
per year, which is not included in the base salary.

Alabama

Tua Tagovailoa, a 6-1, 210 pound native of Honolulu, Hawaii, and the nation's second ranked
dual-thread quarterback has verbally committed to Alabama. Tagovailoa, chose Alabama over
Hawaii, USC, UCLA, Texas A&M and Ole Miss. Last year, Tagovailoa combined for 3,364 yards
and 35 touchdowns. He was recruited by Lane Kiffin and is the lone quarterback among Bama's
nine member 2017 commitment list. Joining the Hawaii quarterback is running back Najee Harris
the nation's No. 1 overall player from Antioch, California.

Vanderbilt

Excluding new members Missouri and Texas A&M, in 70 years of the Southeastern Conference, the
Vanderbilt Commodores are the only school that has failed to win a SEC title. Ole Miss won six titles
in the 20th century, the last being 1963. Kentucky won two titles, in 1950 and 1976. Mississippi
State won their only crown of the 20th century in 1941. I'm predicting Vanderbilt won't win a league
football title in the next 70 years.

ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit like what he saw from Kentucky during spring practice and believes
the Wildcats are in position to emerge as one of the SEC East surprises this fall. He thinks
Kentucky has a chance to get to a bowl game and get seven or eight wins. The Wildcats
have been on the verge of bowl eligibility in back-to-back seasons, but second half slides
have led to consecutive 5-7 finishes. Looking at the schedule, the Cats should be favored
in four of their first 6 games, outside of road trips to Florida and Alabama prior to their bye
week on October 15. Herbstreit could be right about improvement this season but I have
my doubts. In my opinion, Kentucky still doesn't have the depth to compete with the Big
Boys in the SEC and the depth problem has shown itself in the second half of both 2014 and
2015 seasons.

2016 Schedule
Southern Miss, @ Florida, New Mexico St., South Carolina, @Alabama, Vanderbilt, Open,
Mississippi State, @Missouri, Georgia, @Tennessee, Austin Peay, @Louisville
