Can’t imagine caring what another man does much. He’s got a SB/model wife/millions, a critique of his work ethic/life choices just comes off peasant-ish.

But obviously as I’ve pointed out before, a lot of these coaches are only as good as the talent around them. Better to leave a year early rather than stay 3 years late and lose your luster, he can ask another Rams SB coach about that (Mike Martz, wonder what he’s up to these days?)

Now his next job he can print more millions, and if you think he’s overrated then bet under on that teams win total their first year, I dunno. None of these guys are messiahs, but they’re all pretty smart.

Yes, lazy and entitled.

"There's a growing sense that he will [step down]. My understanding is it's not because of burnout or he wants to get into TV, he won a Super Bowl and now he's facing a multi-year rebuild that he just doesn't want to be apart of..." :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Do you disagree with this take?
I dont disagree that he's stepping down b/c the rams will be poop. I think i said that on here earlier in this thread

If the rams were to be super bowl contenders next season, then he'd be on the sidelines.

I just disagree with the lazy/entitled take that you made. He doesnt want to be at his job anymore so he's quitting. I have no problem with that. I'm sure that upper management has known about this.

Rams mortgaged the future to win a super bowl. Was it worth it? I think so

Yes, they mortgaged the future at McVay's behest and now he's bailing on said trainwreck of a future.

And you don't have a problem with this? Or, as a Rams fan....you wouldn't have a problem with this?

Fine. Agree to disagree.

Hard to be a dynasty or consistent contender when you dont have a franchise QB.

Rams did what they had to do. They have a super bowl.

If you are true and realistic fan, then they should be fine with this as they won a super bowl.

Why is it ok for McVay to step down and not Sean Payton? Yeah Payton has been at this longer but he went from 15 years of Drew Brees to a trio of Andy Dalton/ Jaemis Winson, and TAysom Hill. Payton had 1 year of this and said "F this, i'm out"

Payton went to tv this year and now is a hot coaching candidate

So whats the difference between Payton and McVay? (other than Kevin James playing Mcvay in a movie)

Doesn't want to work. LOL

30 something guy that has made it all the way to a head coach. Not to mention the 30 somethings that are now GMs all over the sports landscape.

What exactly did the 30 somethings do in your generation Sheriff? Haha

He definitely must have gotten this far this quickly because he is lazy. What every NFL team is looking for...

I wouldn’t care if McVay, Payton, Josh Allen or Mahomes retired enough to “have a problem with it”

It’s football and these teams are laundry, who cares

Rams fans will just go to the beach for a few years, ain’t that serious lol

Can you imagine the amount of work along with smarts a person in their 30s needs to show to become the head coach of an NFL team.

Then he wants to take time off and is called lazy and entitled. just lol shit.

but maybe the owner of Rams was just his dad.

I used Tomlin and Belichick as earlier examples - guys who grind through the peaks and valleys over the years no matter what.

You brought up Sean Payton, so let's briefly compare McVay to Payton. Although Payton did enjoy 15 good years with the Saints, he also didn't put a gun to the owner's head and demand they trade an infinite number of picks for...Matthew Stafford, who may not even be their starter next season.

Don't forget, Goff got the Rams to the SB and won a game with a broken thumb when he shouldn't have even been on the field...yet McVay laid all the blame on Goff and ran him out of town. So much for taking responsibility - typical millennial! So the Rams did what Millennial McVay demanded (otherwise, the soft crybaby may have even walked back then) and now look at them. Probably will have to trade some of their core players just to recoup some of that draft capital. Either way, they're going to suck for a while.

Now comes the word Millennial McVay is said to not want to accept the "hard work" that goes into a rebuild - a rebuild HE is responsible for! After all, there's nothing to rebuild, the cupboard is empty - no picks! He just wants to slide into another cozy position with a contender - all the glitz and glamor without the hard work that goes into building a winner.

That's how I see it..

LOL.

What you stated is obviously not true. But lets play devil's advocate and say he did FORCE the hand of owner and gm(lol).

He delivered a SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP. It was well worth any price they might pay for the next few seasons.

Not sure if you were up that night at 12-1am, but did you know that he was so far ahead, sports books had him like -3000 or more?
I had about 20k riding on it---so followed every step.

Biden was also crushing Trump in Texas early on, why?

Go read what Trump attorneys did in certain states to force same days to be counted before mail-ins.

Biden was crushing in Texas because Texas was allowed to count mail-ins first. Then same days got counted and Trump won easily.

Trump winning those states(if you can call it winning, its like saying you are close to winning on a scratch off ticket or a wwe event) was because they were forced to count same days first...

Basically like betting an under in basketball and then saying "can't believe i lost i was up by 240 points."

-3000? Lol come on now . Off by a zero

It was pretty clear to those who followed the race that Biden was going to make up ground the following day from underreporting in urban areas + mail in. Trump was going to have a lead, but question was how big of a buffer

Not big enough

It’d be hard to be a part of a rebuild when you are a part of franchise that not many people in the area give af about. They couldn’t gain much traction in that market even with a SB win

He pushed the franchise to go all in and they got a ring, now paying the price. Nothing wrong with that

He definitely isn’t the otherworldly savior that guys like Colin Cowherd will label him, but he’s obviously successful
