Seahawks' Michael Bennett calls on white players to help with national anthem protests

Bennett says the events in Charlottesville, Va., has prompted him to sit for the anthem.


"Over the weekend, so much violence, so much hate," Bennett said. "I just wanted to remember why we were American citizens, remember the freedom, the liberty and the equality, make sure we never forget that. I really wanted to honor that, the founding principles of what we're all supposed to be. Charlottesville was so crazy, so much going on in the world now, it just made sense."

I believe Bennett has given this plenty of thought and would have done it in due time.

He hasn't said "Black" once. But you are acting like that is what it is all it is about.

Like you need to bring up....why aren't you standing for black people in Chicago? What does that have to do with him standing for equality in the country. What does it have to do with blacks killing blacks? Just because HE is black?

This is my point man. You are making my point. If this was a white guy sitting....you would not be mad or questioning why isn't that white guy standing for black on black crime at all. Your point is irrelevant to the point at hand. Equality for all.

When you live in the slums. There is far more illegal activity. People live that illegal life everyday. Which in return will bring violence. The Ferguson uprising was based on a fat lie. People in Ferguson fought and broke stuff based on a false narrative put forth by our left wing media. This is why Trump was elected. People are tired of lies.

There is nothing to understand about Baltimore. We saw hundreds of black people looting, rioting and assaulting innocent people in their own city and there's no excuse for doing that. You can't come up with one reason why any of that was ok and for you to defend it, is embarrassing.

Just yesterday, a NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll came out saying 62% of Republicans believe the Confederate Statues should remain standing. 44% of Dems said they should stay and 61% of Independents think they should stay.
