hellraiser

I don't think any movie can be worse than that, specially in part II when the corpses are rebuilt from the tissue of others........

Carrie

texas chainsaw massacere (Original)

I definately agree with HELLRAISER, and EXORCIST THOUGH!!

Now I am gonna throw another at you that Ive never seen, but was told was the scariest movie ever made,,,

I dont know the name, and to be honest its probably one of those movies that NEVER made it to the states,,

the SETUP is there is this tiny girl shes probably 18 chinese,,, and so tiny, probably weighs 80 lbs, and you see her cutting up vegatibles, then camera pans away slightly and you see a guy tied up and she is discecting him as he is alive,,,

I dont know the name, but with enough searches, and questions someone could find it,

I beleive this movie won scariest of all time from Bravo, about 8-10 years ago,,,

good luck

thanks for all the input, I love watching scary movies, but I've gotten older and the older you get the harder it is for a movie to really scare you yet I have written down a couple of these names and will be looking forward to watching them , let them keep on coming in if you have more "scary movies"

Here is some I've watched lately that you should check out.

Wolf Creek
Doomsday (everyone will say lame, but its fun)
Vacancy
Hills have Eyes 1 (I didn't like 2)
The Descent
House of 1000 Corpses
The Mist
The Machinist
The Ruins
Mortuary
The Reaping
I am Legend

most here wont believe it....but my IDIOTIC parents somehow let me watch The Terminator when i was 7years old and i seriously had nightmares for weeks....

its one of my favorite movies now but to this day i cant believe they let me watch that at 7....i think it was the whole human/machine (when he cuts his eye out) that scared the shit outta me....

the 1st hostel wasnt so much scary but after leaving the theatre i was definitely freaked out....i swore id never leave the USA after watching that movie....

Agree with Hostel, because scary movies to me are ones where the shit could happen in real life. I could definitely see something like this in a 3rd world country. Just watched part 2 on Showtime last night. It was ok, but already knowing what was coming toned it down on the scare factor.

HEY, YEAROF OX,,, what was that Horror movie???? the one I mentioned above, forgive my saying I dont know if it was chinese or japanese? is suspect chinese,,,

I remember the critic from Bravo saying one of the things that made it so chilling was that the girl was so tiny, petite and beautiful? yet she was capable of such haneous torturous things,,,

does any of that sound familiar?

seen every scary movie out there...one of my hobbies.

Stupid as it sounds "The Messangers" is by far the scariest movie I have ever seen. Only movie that has made me actually yell out loud in a movie theatre. Felt like a girl. Came out a few years ago. I just don't like creepy little kids...especially ones crawling on ceilings and sitting in basement corners

Dr. Butcher (81) , Silent night Deadly night original (84) , Don't Go In the House , Ghosthouse (88) (the music was so scary in this movie) , Deadly Friend , Phantasm 2, The Burning. The Prowler, Madman !! I could go on for days. Nothing beats 80's horror. Such an experimental time . Some things worked and some didn't but at least there were directors out their trying to capitalize on the next big moneymaker. Now all we have is remakes and garbage that nobody wants to see.

I am surprised that no one mentioned this one until post #42. It set the stage for so many movies after it and was so low budget. Think about it, House of a 1000 Corpses is just T.C.S.M. and Natural Born Killers blended together. Night of the Living Dead was really low budget and started the whole zombie thing. Anyway, the first time I saw Texas C. S. Mas. it was really, really late and I was in my teens. I had no idea what it was, but I was so shocked and interested that I wanted to stay up and watch it. Well, I couldn't stay awake and towards the end when the girl is tied to the chair and starts to go crazy they were flashing eyeballs up close. I was so tired that I was fading into sleep, waking up and fading into sleep again during that part of the movie. It was sort of a bad experience and that was probably the scariest one for me.

Hard Candy (2005)
No one said this one, but a girl ties a 20 or 30 something up and chops his balls off. She then proceeds to grind his balls up in the garbage disposal. Well, that's pretty scary and twisted if you ask me.

and here's to the dude that mentioned 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later...holy shit! It is like zombies on drugs or something. They run so fast. You know they will probably be coming out with a third one too.

Hey serious addiction, I don't know how you feel about zombie movies, but I was very pleasantly surprised with, Diary of the Dead (2007). There is a scene where this girls little zombie brother surprises her and jumps on her back. I am not afraid to admit that I shit my pants as a result of that scene.

Did someone really say Blairwitch Project?? That movie was absolutley terrible and the worst attempt at a scary movie I've ever personally witnessed. Maybe, it just didn't live up to the hype but I thought it was a better unintentional comedy movie then a scary movie.

I have Netflix and will look into 'The Messangers'.
Old schools Psycho, Jaws, and Alien widened my eyes. In the mystery thriller genre I'd add 'Wait until Dark' with great acting by Hepburn and Arkin.
